If only there were Zero star! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE Title verification required extensive effort, involving 12 phone calls to get them to send the copy of the title through a malfunctioning website. It took 24 hours to confirm the legitimacy of the title, followed by completion of numerous online documents, and then waiting for them to request payment from the customer. An additional two days were needed to get approval followed by another day or two to receive a return label for the title. Once the title is received, it undergoes a verification procedure, requiring another 24 hours of waiting. Payment may be received a day or so later, if fortunate. Almost 20 years on Ebay with over 2500 positive feedback, they made me feel like a worthless crook, not only that, but My buyer is also absolutely furious! NEVER AGAIN. As of today, I still have not received my money!

Staff comes across as if it's too much hassle to provide support. They make response and timeline commitments they choose not to honor. Very frustrating. It was one problem after another and no one cared enough to own the problems and fix them. Would avoid buying another car through Caramel at all costs.

Attempted to buy a vehicle after winning high bid on BaT and was recommended to use Caramel. Big mistake. I created an account, seller created an account. I went as far as possible in the process which amounted to entering the car information and confirming the purchase price. The seller received a FedEx envelope to overnight the title and sign POA ect. Once Caramel received the title, they were unable to verify with NMVTIS. So they recommended that I personally go to the seller and purchase the car and they would send back the title. I did exactly that. Drove 800 miles one way to get this car and haul it back. He still didn’t have the title back from Caramel but I got a Bill of sale. Ok great….. Now I call Caramel to tell them to send me the title and they tell me….hang on now, this where it gets crazy…..they (Caramel) tells me they still have the title because they was holding it until the seller sends back the 50% of the money. I said what??? You sent the seller money?? Why would you do that?? Isn’t the title non-verifiable?? They said someone screwed up and wired the funds into the seller’s account. Good luck getting that back hahaha. These people don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. They’ll screw up the simplest thing like a title and payments. I mean this is the whole premise of their business!!!!! They can’t even get that right. I’m done.

It's been eleven days since my car sold and still no money. I get zero communication from them and going into a holiday weekend it will be at least four more days before anything happens on it. Buyer has car already. Run away. Fast!

I purchased a truck through eBay with Caramel. It has been 2.5 months and they cannot get anything right. The description of the vehicle on the title is incorrect they say they corrected it but it still appears incorrect on the PDF they ask me to review. My address is incorrect and they haven't corrected it yet in 11 weeks since my purchase. Their customer service is terrible.

I just purchased a car on eBay 2 1/2 weeks ago and they still have not sent me my title. I have a car in my driveway that I legally don’t own even though I paid 5 minutes after I won the auction. Dealing with Caramel has been a horrible experience. I will never buy a car on eBay or BAT again as long as they use Caramel. Their communication is terrible (none) and the unknown waiting period for the title after the payment is made is not worth the hassle. I wish I could leave a 0 star rating. I’ve purchased many cars on eBay before but this is my last as long as they use Caramel. Buyer Beware!!!

I agree with the others, extremely frustrating experience. I was the buyer on a BaT auction which closed early January. Both parties are in California.The seller was extremely frustrated with Caramel. Took over a month to close the deal. Then Caramel put the wrong name on the title. Still I am waiting to get license plates. I do have a number to call and the person who answers is always very nice but even he is unable to get information about what is happening. And Caramel has refused to answer any emails from me since I notified them they put wrong name on title. I was hoping to avoid DMV which is why I used the service but this company is worse than dealing with DMV by far. BaT should sever their relationship

This company is not worth the hassle. Purchased a car from a private party. Supposedly to make the transaction easier, used Caramel. Seller sent the title to them. All they had to do was forward it to me. Nothing else. No DMV visit, nothing. Just send it to me. After a week, they still haven’t sent it to me. They have lied to me. Gave me a false tracking number. If these people represent Bring a Trailer, then maybe I shouldn’t be using BaT either. This is terrible service, no communication and being told lies as to what is going on. I suggest not using them. If BaT had any integrity, they would step in and get issues like this resolved. It only hurts their reputation.
