I usually try to avoid writing negative reviews but I had the worst experience using Caramel for purchase of vehicle off BringaTrailer.com. The auction ended 10/9 and check was overnighted and received 10/11. It wasn’t cashed until 10/23!! Paperwork was messed up. I received actual plates at the same time I was getting emails to re fill out forms for plates. It’s 11/6 at the time of writing this review and the car still sits with the seller. It hasn’t even been picked up yet!! It took a full month to be cleared for transport! I would like to say customer service was very nice on the telephone but every process with this company hit a snag. I would never ever use them again. They cost me money.

Seller ripped me off. Lost $500

The stated streamlined service was a long and drawn out failure. The buyer of my vehicle chose to use the Caramel Secure Purchase option through eBay. This service was promoted as being streamlined and easy for sellers & buyers, but the reality was anything but, especially considering this is their core integrated service offering. The core issue was the extraordinary waste of time followed by the eventual failure of the transaction. I accepted a bid for my vehicle on October 3rd. For nearly three weeks, I waited while the process supposedly moved forward. It wasn't until October 23rd—a full 20 days later—that Caramel finally informed me the deal "can't be done." This period represents a massive, non-recoverable waste of time based on what turned out to be false assurances. Adding to the frustration was an unexpected financial issue: at one point, I was asked to pay for a $500 miscalculation that occurred on their side of the valuation. While I genuinely wanted this service to work and appreciate the concept, my experience was a frustrating failure and a huge waste of time. Based on the severe delay, the lack of follow-through, and the financial error, I cannot recommend Caramel.

Information provided by Caramel reps regarding the active progress relative to DMV is quite misleading and comes across as them not being on top of their business.

I have called in multiple times trying to figure out the registration on my vehicle. No one can give me a straight answer. Y’all‘s customer service is poor.

I sold my car on eBay and both the buyer and I contacted Drive Caramel multiple times by phone. Every time we spoke with them, we received contradictory information. The buyer even flew in from out of town to pick up the car and ended up wasting the entire weekend waiting for Drive Caramel to “do their work” so he could drive the car home. Despite many calls from both buyer and seller, no progress was ever made. After more than a week of back-and-forth, nothing was resolved. To make matters worse, Drive Caramel insisted that I ship the car and title first, and they would pay me only after receiving them. This process felt risky and unprofessional. The experience caused major frustration for both myself and the buyer, and I ultimately had to cancel the transaction. The buyer was extremely disappointed, and so was I. Based on this experience, I will never deal with this company again and strongly advise others to avoid them.

Horrible communication. No one knows what’s going on. Terrible customer service and resolution of a problem. Very frustrating service and flaky answers , no real time solutions.
