This guy is 100% full of it and this is 100% a scam. He's not trying to help you in any way, he's trying to get you to pay him for redundant crap. He's a scam artist. Go ahead and join his free webinar. Watch the chat box... it's hilarious. You'll see people answering his questions before he even asks them! Remarkable! It's all a joke and scam, and it's not 1% "LIVE." Waste 15 minutes, watch this guy's clown show, but absolutely don't take him seriously or give him $1.

I joined Dope Shot U because I needed help getting new clients for my newborn photography business. The courses on how to use Instagram ads, taught by Mike, helped me acquire new clients. Additionally, the other tips and advice he shared in the courses were also helpful. Having access to Mike for guidance when dealing with clients was invaluable. The ad courses are effective as long as you follow Mike's instructions; success is guaranteed. I also appreciated the weekly Zoom calls, where I could learn from the experiences of other photographers and avoid making the same mistakes in my business. The business resources and files provided by Mike are an added bonus. One thing I would advise is to ensure you have some savings set aside to run ads consistently on Instagram before investing in his course, as it requires ongoing advertising to be effective. If you want to invest in your business I recommend Dope shot U!

I signed up for DSU after getting bombarded with Mike's ads and then attending his live workshop. I found it very informative and decided to give it a shot. Mike personally contacted via text to setup a zoom call to see where I was at in my business and my goals. After that I reviewed the courses which I found very helpful for me in terms of getting my marketing in a better spot then where it was before I signed up. Since then, I've found a lot of value in the coaching calls that are held every Monday and Thursday where not only does Mike help with any questions I have, but also the community helps each other as well. And honestly, thats the best value for me. Having not only Mike, but others in the group willing to help with not only marketing techniques, but gear, shooting techniques and so much more. I may not have gotten to where I want to be at the moment, but I can see a path to it, and I do not regret my decision to purchase a DSU membership at all.

My first experience with this is the "free webinar." It was a very informative session so I stayed till the end. It wasn't boring, it was really really REALLY GOOD! That's why I stayed throughout that 4-5 hour webinar. This is where he offered his "LIVE WORKSHOP" (Please keep that phrase in mind) that I purchased and paid in full. I have been looking for a service like this since all "classes/workshops" I find online, Photography related, are prerecorded videos where you watch it yourself and contact the instructor if you have questions and stuff. After his free webinar, I went ahead and signed up for his "LIVE WORKSHOP" priced @ $1750 for an "8-Week Accelerator Course." At this point, the only form of communication I had with Mike Nelson was via text message. After paying, I was then sent a contract I had to sign to get access to the website. (This is the mistake, signing it without FULLY READING the contract). In my defense, I was just excited to finally find a live service where I could learn from a "LIVE WORKSHOP" and not just some pre-recorded videos, so I went ahead and signed the contract to get access to the website. I was supposed to have an "Initial Meeting" with Mike via Zoom. However, I got my dates mixed up and missed this. He texted me with the same number he's been using to send text messages from, and I texted him in that number to reschedule but he did not respond. (He'll say it's easier to communicate with him through the web app he's using but he's sent message through texts) About a week has passed since that text and still no response, I went ahead and logged on to his web app (it was also at this point that I learned it's not a "LIVE WORKSHOP", it's just like any other classes/workshops available online just a lot more expensive), and messaged him to ask to reschedule and upon looking at the calendar, there's nothing that will work with my current schedule at the time, and it was gonna pass the supposed 8-Weeks (from the time I paid for the service). Given how I personally thought, he was not as responsive as I thought he would be, and that it has been two weeks from that supposed "initial Zoom meeting" we were scheduled to have, I went ahead and asked my bank to do a chargeback (remember that mistake I mentioned? Yeah, it's in the contract that you can't do a chargeback). To make this long story short, once you signed that contract, you're poop-out-of-luck. You have no recourse if for some reason you can not do the class at all. In my case, I spent $1750 for a log-in credentials that I can't even use anymore (only logged into his web app once to message him and look around the site) because my account is now deactivated by Mike Nelson or whoever is running his web app. *Side note there are four total reviews (five now including this one) for Dope Shot, two are 1-Star reviews, and the other two are 5-Star reviews that were posted the same day they addressed the two 1-Star reviews. Coincidence? Sure. EDIT*** (TrustPilot apparently gives you an opportunity to edit your review, would have been better if you're able to respond back) There's just two things I want to say, first as I have mentioned in my original review, I did file for a charge back, HOWEVER, the reasons I gave my bank is "Service not received" and NOT "fraudulent charge" like what DopeShotU is claiming in their response. Really says a lot about them to lie about that. Secondly, I know DopeShotU offered to "figure this out" by saying "you know how to contact me" as a matter of fact, NO I do not know how to contact you. As I have mentioned, again, in my original review, DopeShotU has NOT responded to my texts NOR emails. The only way I can apparently reach him is through his website that I no longer have access to (which again I mentioned in my original review). So yes, if you're serious about hoping we can figure something out, maybe start with responding to my email or text?

Pierre, First off, I’m sorry that we couldn’t work together as you initially put your faith in joining Dope Shot U. I’m super responsive with all members that join Dope Shot U, and upon joining, the contract stated that we host live calls each week. Upon joining, you have access to those calls as well as the training videos inside the platform. The agreement you signed gave you access to the platform and all the material, which shows that you also watched the training. From there, you made a chargeback to your bank, stating that it was a fraudulent charge and that you didn’t make the payment, which wasn’t true. Once the agreement was sent to the bank, they decided not to honor the chargeback. Regarding our lack of communication, I’m sorry that you feel like I didn’t respond to you. I personally reached out through text and call on the day of our meeting but didn’t get a response from you to reschedule. With all of that being said, I’m still willing to help you achieve your goals with your business and would be more than willing to settle this with a phone call if you will accept. You know how to contact me, and I hope we can figure this out.

Mike’s training was probably the best photography training I’ve ever attended. He was incredibly detailed, engaging with everyone in the training, making it feel like he was speaking directly to you. His experience of over 10 years in marketing definitely shows, he’s an even better photographer than he is a marketer, which says a lot because his marketing skills are amazing. If you’re looking to grow your photography business, then you need to check out his training.

I came across Mike’s free webinar on instagram and hesitated to actually show up because I’ve went to others in the past that just wasn’t informative at all. Mike’s webinar was everything opposite of that. He’s given out so much information in just the free webinar that I’ve taken and applied to my own business and it’s helped me tremendously. I now know what my focuses are, what I need to tweak and improve on and the aspects of my business I need to invest in more in order to hit the new goals that I’ve set for myself thanks to Mike’s help. I haven’t purchased a spot for his dope shot university yet because currently I simply can’t afford it right now but from the information that I’ve received so far regarding the free webinar, it’s been nothing less than five stars. Thanks once again Mike 💪🏾.
