I was so pleased to find Dogwise Academy. I researching other companies my pup was either too young for training, unaffordable and only boarded dogs for training. I was specifically looking for someone that Abby could stay with while being trained. The icing on the cake was working with Theresa. She is very professional and knowledgeable. I received daily updates and photos/videos while Abby was gone for two weeks. Theresa picked her up from my home and delivered her back when the two weeks was up. I received weekly reports and a hand-off report. I also have videos of the training Theresa did with Abby. Abby has a lot of energy and loves to play. Theresa is still available to me and provides advice if I am in need of help. I felt very comfortable leaving Abby with her. I am very appreciative of the foundation Theresa has laid out for us. Abby is on her way to being a happy puppy.

Cal was wonderful from start to finish, even before and after our dog, Dixie, was under his care. When we had some reservations about training for so long before she even went to him, he reached out and he made sure all of my concerns and questions were answered. When he came to pick Dixie up, we could tell that he was a kind person, just the way Dixie immediately embraced him and through our conversation and interaction. We were confident that Dixie was in good hands, even though we were sad to let her go. Cal communicated with us often, sharing training videos and updates daily. Dixie came home with better leash manners, door manners, and just overall better behaved. She was once very reactive to other dogs when on the leash and she encountered a few over the past couple of days with no problem. The day Dixie came home, Cal was very thorough in teaching us how to maintain behaviors and continue our part with training at home. Even after she was dropped off, Cal continued to communicate with us to see how she was doing and settling in. It was clear that Dixie and Cal formed a special bond and we will be forever grateful.

Ryan and Lukas were so good to my boy Joey and they made sure I had all the tools necessary to make sure we had success in the long term. Emmalee was also extremely responsive during the entire process and made sure I stayed updated every step of the way.

I couldn’t be happier with the training my puppy received from Theresa! From the start, she demonstrated a deep understanding of dog behavior and was incredibly patient, adapting her methods to fit my puppy’s personality and learning pace. Not only did she teach her essential commands, but she also focused on building positive habits that have made a world of difference at home. Her dedication and warmth made the entire experience enjoyable and rewarding. I highly recommend Theresa to anyone looking for a professional and compassionate trainer who truly goes above and beyond!

They are great with communication. Bailey puts at ease from the moment she came to pick the dogs up. We were pretty nervous about sending our pups with a stranger but the dogs and the family all felt better after meeting her The dogs have definitely learned the commands we asked they be trained with and then Bailey worked on training us. We have her comments and videos we can refer back to when we have questions. The company has also let us know to keep in mind that we have follow up training if needed. The dogs are definitely happy to have some jobs to work on and that makes us all happier. I would definitely recommend this program to others who need help with training and every day life with their pups. Thank you!

Summary: Had a poor experience with first trainer at Dogwise. Rina took over and she is the sole reason this review is 5 stars. We had an interesting experience with Dogwise Academy. We sent our 1-1/2 year Mini Bernedoodle Nyla to a 3-Week Board and Train Program at the beginning of July 2024, and had a very poor experience. To start, Nyla went for a more advance training session. She already knew are her basic commands, she just had some small behavioral issues like barking at people and other dogs, pulling on the leash, barking at the door. Fairly normal dog behaviors that needed fixing, but nothing aggressive. Now to our experience. First, the trainer kept rescheduling the pick up time, the drop off and then eventually the handover session. They were unresponsive and when we specifically asked for videos of the training, they sent TikTok videos of other trainers training other dogs from the internet. When Nyla came back from the training, she had more behavioral problems than when she left and she was extremely scared fo other dogs and people which she had never been before. After 3 weeks of trying to schedule the handover session I reached out to Dogwise Academy to inform them of the situation. They connected me with Rina. Let me take this point to reiterate that Rina is the reason this review is 5 stars. Dogwise Support team was great as well, but Rina turned the experience around for us. We sent Nyla to another 2 week Board & Train with her and Nyla came back a different dog (in a good way, this time). Rina was responsive, instructive, and still check-ins on Nyla today. We have had multiple handover sessions with her (due to the fact that Nyla had to come home a few days early due to no fault of Rina's) and still she seems to have progessed so much more in a much shorter amount of time. I can't emphasize enough how impressed and grateful I am of Rina and the hard work that she did and continues to do with us today. If you live in the central Florida area (and even if you don't), I highly recommend Rina as your trainer. She is worth the trip. She is what a truly good dog trainer should look like.

Tressie was God sent. When we first got our four month old English Mastiff he was very timid he had high anxiety, he would hide behind furniture all day. I had to carry him outside to his vet appointments and also to get groomed. Walks were not happening at all I would have to literally pick him up and carry him outside and when we got outside, he would just put all his weight down so he couldn’t be moved. It was not only hard on us, but on him as well. Honestly, I had doubts on even sending him to the board and training program because I didn’t think they would be able to help him. As time went on, Tressie sent me videos of him walking, interacting with other dogs etc…. he was a totally different dog his confidence level boosted so much within those two weeks! Now we have an actual dog who is acting like a dog lol he is very happy, interactive and confident. The bonus is that now we don’t have to carry him everywhere. He actually walks on his own and loves being outside! Tressie I cannot thank you enough. You are truly a miracle worker thank you for not only training Onyx, but also loving him as if he was your own dog by the way that he was interacting with you. I can tell you loved and took care of him as if he was your own. Words cannot express how appreciative we are of you! thank you thank you thank you I recommend Tressie 100%! Thank you Dogwise Academy!

Kaylah is an amazing trainer! I sent my Rottweiler to her for two weeks and when she came back she was very well behaved and still the same happy dog I love. She has become very polite on her leash and is not pulling or trying to run, she also has stopped jumping on guest or people with food. She learned many things at her training and I am beyond very with our trainer Kaylah.
