I learned how to be calmer coming into the house. I have been more praising her and that gets her more excited. Bad!!

So far our experience with Dog Academy has been really good. We got lucky getting an offer for the Psychiatrist Service Dog pack. It comes with a lot of courses of all type and they are all very clear. You can take your time to do the exams (the ones us as parents gotta do) so you’re not on a clock in case you have a busy life. The videos for each lesson are very short and go straight to the point, not like some YouTube videos. I wish they had a dog trainer closed to us, because that’s what we initially booked, but I guess we ended up doing our best, and still do, for our dog Luigi to become a psychiatrist service dog for my husband. Just finished the exam videos for the service dog, so hoping will pass and if not, will keep trying!! The exams are pretty easy and a for an everyday life. Enter a store in controlled manner, enter a restaurant, avoid food and any temptations, sit hold and then come & finally enter and exit any form of transportation. They gotta last at least 30 seconds!

Very good. I must say that I stumbled in my reading over a few typos & misspellings.

Well far all is good. When uploading videos, there needs to be a second upload to each. This is helpful for the entering vehicle and leaving the video. Thanks and I hope to complete the video uploads soon.

I am deaf and was able to read the material and practice with my dog. It was a challenge because I sign and can not voice the command

Dog academy is excellent! Great teaching methods and concise concepts

When I signed up, I qualified, with several calls and conversations, as to whether I would meet the criteria, since Daisy was presently living in Houston Texas. We were planning Daisy's relocation, changes in handler/owner, city and state, and what needed to take place. My daughter/niece (Tasnim) was the original handler/owner of Daisy for 6 years. She & Daisy graduated from College with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science & WildLife Conservation. She is presently working Full time, as well as finishing up her master & doctorate as Veterinarian. As results, Daisy was trained by professionals. As my health deteriorated & my disabilities changed, it was decided that Daisy needed to move to Chicago, IL with me permanently. As a result, her owner/handler (Tasnim), flew Daisy to Chicago and stayed with me for weeks for extensive reinforcements training & relocation transitions. Your team was extremely helpful with answering my many questions, as well as provided clarification during our training. The training program was well written and appropriate for the training.

I’ve trained dogs for 35 years, mostly hunting dogs. The obedience portion of the program was done before I started. It was great to learn new techniques to teach new behaviors. It was simply like training hand signals, but in this case it was my body language and my behavior. I did find the instruction for the PAT to be severely lacking. I live in rural Maine and I don’t have dog parks within 70-80 miles that I know of. Or any parks for that matter that would include people and public distraction. I was able to use my local Walmart after clearing it with a supervisor. She was very helpful and cooperative. The don’t allow any videos inside the store, but gave me the ok given the need for the PAT. Thank you . . . .
