I have mixed feelings about my experience with Dog Academy, I didn’t realize until 3/4 of the way through that I had to make videos of my dog performing five behavioral tasks. It would have been nice to know that at the beginning. The question and answer tests were useful and I learned a lot.

The basic grooming program had some very good instructional materials to learn how to groom your own dog(s). **This is not a course to take if you want to be a professional dog groomer though. I was hoping for more step by step instructional videos on specifically how to trim dark toenails, trimming facial hair and shaving body fur, plus recommendations on equipment to use. The program is regularly $199 and I got 60% off, but not sure it was even worth $90.

I enjoyed the way I could work with my dog at our own pace. Although I didn’t really like how many times the lessons told you of what your dog needed to learn, although the lessons seemed to not really tell you the step by step actions of how to train and I had to figure out by myself. I had to go to YouTube or other sites to do learn the hands on approach.

My dog is well-trained but I found out when I moved to Florida that they wanted additional training so I signed up for the training. Your slots to make videos are so little. It's hard for me to make a video of my dog and myself,so I had to enlist the help of a 13-year-old boy. So we tried to get the videos that you requested. However, since there's only enough room for 1 video at a time. I feel that it's a disadvantage. You can't really see that the dog is fully trained. Never once were treats employed in the making of videos.
