Diners Club far cry from what it was.
In my opinion, Diners Club is a mere shell of what it once was. I've been a Diners Club member since 1974, over 50 years! Back when Diners Club was the real Diners Club service and customer support were unparalleled. If I called Diners, someone answered the phone and I was talking to an agent within a minute or two. Their concierge service and overall service was exceptional and I used it many times back in the day. That was at a time when computers were in their infancy. They went the extra mile and then some back then. I tried using that service perhaps 2 years ago under the BMO ownership and what a joke. I was on hold forever while the agent was trying to figure out if concierge service was part of the Diners Club program and the so called customer service person even had me calling another department. I hung up the phone and called another credit card I have (US Bank and by the way, they are really good) and bingo, got my answers promptly. Today in my opinion Diners Club is nothing more then a below average card. The current owner, BMO is awful by comparison and their customer service is a slap in the face to the legacy of this brand. As far as I can see Diners Club today is nothing more than a shingle hanging on BMO's front door. Hopefully they will sell the brand to someone who knows how to run a high end operation.
