ZERO stars. Should of read the negative reviews first. MATT L. SCHMIDT was harassful and burdensome. It's clear I haven't been the only one to feel this way (see previous reviews with the same experience). Sending multiple emails repeating his last email (to which I had not yet replied to) then "closing my file" which is clearly a tactic to try to pressure someone to quickly buy the insurance, because I hadn't responded within his allowed time frame (3 days). His exact words were that I was the problem because I couldn't "answer a simple question". He sent a 2,600 (!!!!) word email for me to try to comb through and then didn't approve of me taking time to look it over. I've never experienced a sales tactic as bad as his before. It became more clear with each passing email that he didn't want to spend any time finding me a policy but instead wanted to quickly make a sale and move on. Never ever ever would I recommend. There are so many other companies out there that will take better care of you without pressuring you into a policy. These policies are long term so think very wisely. Sure as heck would not want a 20/30 year relationship with him or this company as my policy holder. -Ashlee (wife of T1D) ***Editing after their response: Proof here in the way they handle their clients. Condescendingly saying "we hope this reply isn't too long for you". Being upset an inquirer didn't respond within 72 hours!!! in the middle of their week, about how they'd like to move forward with/without testing??? and then typing that out and still posting it as a representation of how they treat others. This shows that they will continue to treat prospective clients the exact same and don't see their actions as childish/unprofessional as they are. Thankful to actually be a part of the T1D community so I can share this review not only online, but in person with others who should steer clear. How disappointing to have this company represent the diabetes community. They don't deserve to have such a distinction. We have found someone that doesn't claim to be diabetes "life solution" and they were more sincere and helpful to us in the first conversation and we couldn't be more thankful. There is much better out there. Please go look, talk to more than one person/company. But skip this one, save yourself the time and trouble.

Matt refused to provide up front sample quote ranges for our age group. Their website provides sample prices for ages 30 - 50 only. He became accusatory and rude when we requested sample prices before handing over our confidential health information electronically. Buyer beware! This company has 10 complaints on the Better Business Bureau website.

Hello Julia M., Thank you for taking the time to provide us with some feedback and for editing your review again. After reviewing your file / notes, an agent contacted you and attempted to provide you with the information you were seeking on your spouse with type 1 diabetes. We offered to even speak over the phone to collect what was needed. However, you simply refused to provide the necessary diabetes and health information that's required for an accurate quote. We do not know anything about your husband such as his age of diabetes onset, a1c history, glucose level history, or if there's diabetes complications. Nor do we know if he has severe health history of Alzheimer's, heart attacks, cancer etc. It's impossible to provide quotes without knowing this information. A person's diabetes history and overall health determines what rates, and what policy options there may be. Sadly when consumers refuse to cooperate, we close their file. You could have reviewed sample rates for your spouse but you would not share any health information with us. Also, we are NOT a member of the BBB, and all the complaints filed were from people like you who were not able to comply with our sales process. Our 100's of 5 stars reviews speak for themselves as nobody works harder for the diabetes community than we do We wish you and your family all the best!
Matthew
Matt Schmidt has a prominent form on his DLS website. If you fill out this form, he will e-mail you and text you the next day. If you don't reply within a couple days, he will call you from a private number and say harassing things in a strange voice like, "Get off the internet dumbass, quit applying for insurance, why don't you respond to messages dumbass." At least, that was my experience. I politely asked him about this via text, and he replied, "I only work with those who get back in touch with us in a timely manner. Unfortunately you do not meet our criteria to work with us." Again, this two days after submitting the form. From the other reviews here it seems like Matt has run a solid business for some time, but he must be going through some things personally and should take some time off before he runs that business into the ground. Approach Diabetes Life Solutions with great caution, unless you enjoy being harassed.

Hi Matthew Goddard, thank you for leaving this fake review. We appreciate feed back from our Diabetes community, but this was has us stumped. On 11-17-2021, you requested information from us. An agent promptly emailed you a short while later, while you failed to reply to the messages. On 11-18-2021, you began texting an agent very strangely at which time we told you your file was closed. It's quite obvious that you're confusing our communication, from other websites you visited this past week. All communications from us are recorded, and at NO POINT in time did we ever call you. We're sorry to see you act this way Matthew Goddard, and wish you all the best.

Very aggressive and interesting customer service. Received one of the most unprofessional emails I have ever read. “We're gonna go ahead and close out your file. This is due to you not being able to spend 15 minutes to complete a basic application. We're simply not a good fit for you as you have communication, and commitment issues. A place like Policy Genius or State Farm is probably better suited for you.”

Hi Kevin, thank you for taking the time to provide us a review. After looking at your file, it appears we closed your file, because you could not take 10 minutes and fill out an initial application. This was strange, because you had an application to fill out for over 20 months. People's lives have never been busier, but we find it hard to believe you were unable to find 10 minutes to begin the application process. Sadly, when people do not take applying for life insurance seriously, we close their files. We wish you and your family all the best!

Matt L. Schmidt is a rude person. He is not a professional and 0 customer relationship. If you just checked his email and don't reply (for any reason- you might need some time to respond or you might need some details to respond), then you will get a rude email from him saying that he will close your file since we didn't respond. I don't know why he didn't give time for us to reply. When I emailed him he didn't reply for me few days and I need to follow-up with him to get reply. When he took few days to reply, he expect us to reply immediately. I think this is worst customer relationship I ever experienced. Update to reply from Diabetes Life Solutions After I read their reply, it am happy that I am not their client since they said all lies. I always want to take my personal emails reply in the evening but will check my emails in the morning to know what emails I got. I never said my company name to Matt (we are just working on quote. Also collaborate was my pervious company). It looks like they took it from some other social media- which shows they are lying. Also, since I was shopping for life insurance I applied few places already and I told him Matt about that after he provided initial quote. He said he can't work with me since we already in process and we said thank you. Based on their reply, it looks like this place is not good place for insurance. Also, I read reviews from other other places that Matt is doing like this to all customers who felt that their quote is high or applied to different place. If you want to work with Diabetes Life Solutions, please read all reviews before you approach them.

We appreciate the online feedback and for you editing your review once again, as we take this extremely seriously. However, the review from Solomon and his spouse Anitta is the same one he's left at other review sites, and it's not quite accurate. Also duplicate reviews are not allowed per trustpilot guidelines and this is violating Trustpilots own guidelines. Sadly, this is common behaviour from people like Solomon, who were NEVER clients or customers of ours. Now we do agree with Solomon pointing out to read all our reviews. You'll hundred's of positive reviews by respectful people of the diabetes community who were pleased with our services. The negative reviews are from individuals who we closed their file due to communications issues. So yes please read all the reviews of satisfied clients. After reviewing all communication that Solomon Thartis, and Anitta Solomon had with an agent, it was clear that Solomon would routinely open emails, and fail to reply for days on end. This occurred multiple times over the course of a 45 day period. Also, Solomon lied about issues such as his, and his spouses health which is a no-no when it comes to life insurance related matters. You must always be 100% honest when about your health issues as this directly impacts your life insurance options and rates. Upon doing an intial inquiry, Solomon was contacted within 3 minutes through electronic communication. He open the email and text messages, but did not reply for 5 days. Which is perfectly fine, as there's no rush on our end. After discussing life insurance options with him and his spouse, we presented all the information they requested. Per our procedures, we sent follow up emails 72 hours, and then 7 days after our initial communication as courtesy check up. Solomon refused to reply back to email messages for 10 days. Also during this time, we caught Solomon in a lie as he finally disclosed he had pending applications for coverage, that he lied about when we first spoke. Solomon also lied and said he was employeed by Collaborate Solutions inc. which was another lie. This company confirmed he was not an employee. Due to Solomon refusing to reply to email messages, we simply closed his and his wife's file. This is very common as we never want to email consumers who are NOT interested in our services. There is no obligation for us to work any consumer, and we have the right to close an individuals file at any point in time. At no point in time were we rude to anybody. We were respectful at all times, and bent over backwards providing information in a timely manner. As far as life insurance rates being determined, we do not set the prices. Rather individual life insurance companies rates are determined by a person's overall health. Solomon didn't understand this, and thought he should receive lower rates, than what is health profile allows. We wish people could always receive the lowest rates possible, but that simply not the reality of the situation. At no point in time was there any transaction involving any insurance product. Solomon and his spouse Anitta were never clients due them potentially trying to defraud insurance companies. We wish Solomon and his family all the best, but cannot work with people who lie or provide fake information that's going to defraud any type of insurance company. Sadly not everyone is a good fit to work with us, which we completely understand.

Owner of the company Matt Schmidt is a horrible person. Please see Carnegie,PA Better Business Bureau F rating before you purchase insurance through these people.

Hi John, Thank you for leaving a review. We take feedback very seriously as it is important to us. Our goal is to help everyone with their insurance needs. However, from time to time we are simply not a good fit for certain individuals. As in your case, you refused to provide an agent with the requested health and diabetes information needed in order for us to provide to you real and accurate quotes. We will not provide fake quotes to consumers. In the event a person will not provide us with what we need, we simply close their file which is what happened in your situation. This is pretty standard with most businesses across the country. As far as the BBB, you are correct. We are NOT affiliated with this organization at all and will NOT pay any annual fees to them. The BBB does not govern insurance agents. Rather individual insurance departments from state to state do. Thus we are not concerned about a fake BBB rating since we are not accredited with them nor will participate in their pay to play scheme. We truly wish you and your family all the best, but as previously stated we cannot work with you.
