I purchased a custom golf logo design service from DesignsPedia on February 7, but the design quality was far below expectations, and your company failed to honor the “satisfaction guaranteed or refund” policy.
The three revision attempts showed no substantial improvement:
• First attempt: Out of five designs, four were AI-generated, and the remaining one was simply by existing company logo.
• Second attempt: Only a basic presentation of my hand-drawn sketch, lacking professionalism.
• Third attempt: No significant improvement from the previous versions.
I requested a refund multiple times but received only one response, in which your company claimed that the design was based on my hand drawing and asked me to review the refund policy. After that, there was no further reply.
More concerningly, when I checked the bank transaction details, I found that the contact phone number provided by your company was invalid. I later discovered through Google Maps that DesignsPedia is actually an overseas company but uses a U.S. phone number to communicate with customers, which is deceptive.
I also want to remind everyone to carefully verify the background of design companies before making a purchase to avoid being scammed.

Complete scam!
I strongly advise against using this company. They require an upfront payment of $200, but later demand an additional $450 before delivering the full package. If you refuse to pay, they withhold the remaining materials. Furthermore, if you attempt to use the logos you initially paid for, they threaten legal action. Save your money and choose a reputable company instead.

They want you to buy protection against themselves
After many back and forths with Neil B at Designspedia (9/20/23 through 10/24/23), they did not produce what I asked for (they didn't pay close attention to everything I described). When it became clear they were never going to give me what I was asking for, I asked for a refund, which they refused. I disputed the charge on my card. Only then did they finally take time to really listen to what I wanted, and finally produced something I was happy with, so I allowed them to re-charge me. Then they employed super high pressure sales tactics to try to get me to buy a bunch of legal protections for my logo that I didn't need. Fast forward a year to today (December 2024), and it turns out I never needed to use the logo. Not a single human being on Earth other than me and Designspedia has actually seen the logo. And yet I got an email that was from info at designspedia.com saying that "it has come to their attention" from the "Global Copyright Registration Office" that a logo registration has been registered "which mirrors the design we have on record." So evidently, the legal protection they try to sell you is really to protect you from themselves. If such a thing has happened, which I doubt (pretty sure they're making the whole thing up), they are the only other people on the planet who had a copy of my logo. I already reported them to the FTC, and I hope others do the same. The person who runs this company doesn't just deserve to go out of business, he should go to jail.

Never delivered a usable file, attempted to charge me twice and upsell other services
Designspedia's folks promptly sent me a design, which I approved and had already paid for. However, when it came time to send the files, they did not. When we spoke a second time, they sent a file that, unbeknownst to me, was watermarked with their company logo, making it unusable for my business. Their representative attempted to upsell me on copyrighting services for the logo, which I said was totally unnecessary and unwanted. When I later discovered the watermarks and asked for the unwatermarked file, they told me they had already erased the original and would need to charge me a second time to redesign it. While I was slow in asking for a corrected file (I had archived it for use later and returned to it after 3 months and discovered the problem), they never sent me what I paid for in the first place and then refused to make it right.

SCAM company located somewhere in Asia, not in Illinois.
SCAM! Don't use them! We paid them $1000 for a logo, website and a few other services. I had to go back to them to readjust the logo at least 10 times. I ended up creating the logo myself and they only gave me all the files. I gave up on the website design which was HORRIBLE. They have no real designers in this company. Everything they created was super out dated and horrible quality. All we wanted was a simple 1-page website and they were not able to properly create one. We went back and forth at least 10 times as well when I just decided to create one myself on carrd.co. With no design experience whatsoever, I was able to create a small landing page for $50.
They lie saying that they are located in Illinois, which they are clearly not. None of the employees speak proper English and you can barely understand them. They are definitely located in Asia somewhere.
There's also some very detailed complains in the Better Business Bureau you can check to confirm that this "company" is nothing but a SCAM.
Response from DesignspediaNov 7, 2024
Dear Douglas Silva,
We are genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the feedback you've shared. As a valued client, your satisfaction is extremely important to us, and we apologize if we did not meet your expectations.
Upon review, we found that two dedicated project managers were actively engaged in your project, providing prompt adjustments to the logo design based on your requests, as well as custom iconography. We were also in communication regarding your website design, but we understood from your last conversation that your schedule was busy, and you would get back to us to continue that work. We’re here to resume progress and deliver the quality results you expect.
To address your concerns regarding our location, our headquarters and sales operations are indeed based in Illinois, USA. We work with a diverse team of remote professionals from regions including the EU, the MENA region, and across the U.S., allowing us to bring unique skill sets and creativity to every project.
We invite you to reach out directly so that we can investigate this matter and provide the support needed to finalize your web project promptly. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address this, and we hope to work together to create a resolution that satisfies your needs.
Best regards,
Justin S.

Bait and Switch
Honestly, I would not trust these people and this company. Mere logos are one things, but to ever trust them with paying them to host a domain (where they would have the authority over it), I just would not do. At first I was set with one person as the project manager, and then months later, a different man claims to be the same guy, but clearly different on the phone. I've had various experiences with them where the cost was one fee, but would increase after I paid the first installment. Further, I am almost positive that what I paid for trademark/copyright was absolutely fake. As my website is being hosted on their server, I am concerned that it is going to be taken down all of the sudden after all the time and money I invested into building it. The website itself looks good, but the issue now is changing/updating anything on it. I also had another issue come up and their solution was to fix the issue, to charge me an exorbitant amount of money. So in part, they give you a product/service, but they actually scam you by not being competely honest and transparent and start asking for more money. Because of this, I would recommend staying very far away from this company. Who knows where their HQs are and what the deal wtih them really is.. I just get a very uneasy feeling about this company and all my time and money that went into building my website could be gone in a second or held at ransom and if I don't pay, then maybe forced to if I want my website working, fixed, etc.

According to the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act
I believe DesignsPedia violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act:
(815 ILCS 505/2)
Sec. 2. Unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices, including but not limited to the use or employment of any deception fraud, false pretense, false promise, misrepresentation or the concealment, suppression or omission of any material fact, with intent that others rely upon the concealment, suppression or omission of such material fact, or the use or employment of any practice described in Section 2 of the "Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act"
On June 1, 2024, while looking at their website, I was contacted by a rep. I was just browsing for a logo at the time. Now the rep offered a good deal for a logo with a 100 percent guarantee if I do not like the product. He even offered that I pay half up front and the other half after I liked everything. But after the logo was completed and I paid the other half, he said he had to put me in touch with legal. And then legal in turn said I had to pay an additional $680 for copyright/trademark fees that the company thrust upon me last minute. This alone violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act because I cannot obtain the logo without this portion being done. It was not sold as optional but a requirement. So this information needed to be disclosed up front, not after I pay money to the company and participate in a design that they can claim if I do not proceed. This is deceptive practices since none of their initial prices are the true price you need to pay to obtain the logo. The initial price and whatever copyright/trademark you go with is the true price, and that needs to be displayed or disclosed when purchasing the logo, since that might influence decisions. But at the time, I did not know better and saw it merely as a misunderstanding, and I did like the design of my logo. So I paid the hidden fee.
Then the website issue came up. Because of the logo incident, I asked point blank on June 14 that I wanted to see a range of prices and plans for a website and I want it to include all hidden fees associated. And the company agreed. And this was critical to establish because at the time, I was already negotiating with another party for the website and I was checking to see which is better. So full disclosure here is essential on whether I go with them or not and the company knew it as they knew I had another person in review to do the website. So a rep offer me a site for $1,499 plus tax and recommended it should be custom based. It was the only offer. And the rep did say I would have to pay for hosting and SSL. However, they failed to disclose that the SSL would need to be a special EV SSL that costs around $3700. Only after I paid for the website was this significant detail provided. When I ask why is the price so expensive, the company explained it was because it is a custom based website. The custom based website the company had recommended. And here is why it was deceptive. Since the company recommended the website be custom based and they sell the SSL rate, they knew from the beginning how much it would cost. They were obligated when they were discussing the website to fully disclose that the custom based website would need a particular SSL which costs approximately $3,400. The reason they didn't disclose was because they knew that might affect the sell of the website itself. So they intentionally did not disclose the information until after the purchase as it would be harder for the client to cut the investment once money has been put in. This makes the client, however, feels trapped as they are forced to continue onward with a "deal" they do not like or lose out on everything the client already invested. And the company tried to make themselves appear like they are doing me a favor by offering me a deal to lower the fee by $1,500 if I go with them today vs if I pay later. That is still $2,200 every 3 years, which is still more money than the average SSL rate. And this is a bill that must be paid for my website to go live. Now before I said yes, I inquired why it was so high? The company told me it was because I have a custom-based website. So my answer was what if we changed it to a template-based website? But the company would not allow it. So I was forced to either pay the higher $3,700 at a later time or take their deal now to pay $2,200. A week later, I found out Designs Pedia could have switched to a template based, but I would have to pay an additional fee (but it still might be better in the long run if it led to a cheaper SSL rate that must be renewed every 3 years), yet they refuse to provide when asked. Because of their deceptive practice is why I want a full refund on the website, SSL, and hosting. I filed with BBB and had to get my bank involved. Don't believe their money back guarantee.

I Got Scammed $2,000 Dollars
My name is Joseph Nirchio, CEO and President of Victory Verse LLC, USA. I own an athletic brand and decided to use this company to build my website.
They advertise that website design is $350. This is completely wrong, do not be fooled. I had spent over $2,000 throughout my process with this company. They refrain from telling you beforehand that the domain and host for your website are very expensive. I spent $998 for my domain, $999 for my host, $350 for website design, and $75 dollars for my logo.
On top of all those charges that were "mandatory for creation and functionality of the website", what they don't tell you is that they own the host and because of that they keep you on the hook for $450 every 3 years as a fee to keep your website operational.
I started this project in early February of 2024 and it is almost 4 months later now and I do not have anything close to a full functioning website.
I had requested a refund for the money I had spent and I was told I'd be receiving a partial refund. As the owner of both the domain and the host together come out to just shy of $2,000. I was told I would be refunded half of this money.
I requested this refund 3 weeks ago and was told in 10 days I would be receiving about 1,100 dollars. It is now 3 weeks later and I have not gotten a single call back in regards to my refund nor have I received my money.
For as smart and successful as I am, I can not believe I continued to bite their bate. They took my money and did not deliver me a product. They also told me they would give me a partial refund from the money I spent which I also never received.
Strongly advise those who are thinking of using these people to create their website to stay away. Especially is you are from the United States. This company is not based out of the USA they are scammers and use fake numbers and area codes.
Just for reference, this company did about 20 dollars worth of labor work to create my website so far. I had even reached contact with the "CEO" of the company, and still... Nothing has come out of it. $2,000 later, no website, no refund, no contact.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE
