They expect hours of free work but cannot provide meaningful feedback
I had a very disappointing recruitment experience with DesignRush, specifically during the process coordinated by Sanja. After progressing through the hiring process, I was asked to invest a significant amount of time preparing a detailed business case and answering extensive questions about my SEO experience, strategy, technical approach and use of AI. I took the assignment seriously and provided a substantial amount of work, analysis and professional input. After all of that, the response I received was essentially a generic rejection with no meaningful feedback on the business case, no explanation of what was missing, and no indication of how my work had actually been assessed. I completely understand that companies choose between candidates and that rejection is part of any hiring process. What I do not find acceptable is asking candidates to spend hours producing substantial unpaid work and then not offering even a few specific comments in return. For a company operating in professional services, I expected a much higher standard of communication and respect for candidates’ time. Unfortunately, my experience with Sanja and the DesignRush recruitment process left me feeling that the time and effort I invested were not respected. If a company expects candidates to put serious work into a business case, it should be prepared to provide serious feedback afterwards. Based on my experience, I would not go through their recruitment process again.
