Caution Before Sharing Brand Assets or Intellectual Property
I would strongly caution anyone considering Design Centura Digital Branding & Creative Digital Agency to think VERY carefully before sending this company your logo references, brand materials, trademarked names, business concepts, or intellectual property. I contacted Design Centura regarding possible logo design services. I later advised them in writing that I would not be moving forward because I had created my logo independently. I also instructed them to stop contacting me and requested deletion/destruction of any logo references, brand materials, files, drafts, concepts, or related materials connected to my project. Despite my written instructions, I continued receiving follow-up emails asking for feedback on a design concept and discussing next steps. That alone was concerning. More concerning, the email thread I received no longer appeared to include my prior written responses directing them not to proceed, stop contacting me, and delete/destroy my materials, while their emails remained visible. I then called customer service and spoke with Walter. I advised him that the call was being recorded. During the call, I was told the work had been started as a “goodwill” effort and that I needed to be patient. I explained that patience was not the issue. The issue was that I had already sent written instructions multiple times directing Design Centura not to proceed, to stop contacting me, and to delete/destroy my materials. Walter stated that deletion had been done, but when I asked for that confirmation in writing, he refused to provide anything in writing. That is unacceptable and, in my opinion, a serious red flag. When a company is asked to stop work, stop contact, and delete brand-related materials, written confirmation should be standard. Refusing to provide written confirmation after stating that deletion was completed is not professional and does not inspire trust. Based on my experience, I would not trust Design Centura with brand assets, logo references, trademarked materials, or intellectual property unless everything is clearly documented in writing before anything is shared.
