We purchased a volvo for over £4000, only had it a couple of months when the engine was leaking oil everywhere, the exhaust split from the manifold and were looking at over £2000 repair bill, on ringing them up, their response was to put the phone down. The new mechanic says it's been deliberately bodged because it came with 12 months MOT. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS GARAGE

COWBOYS Avoid!
COWBOYS Avoid!! Please do NOT take any verbal agreements!! They are reluctant to put any offers (trying to look like they are doing a good thing) in writing and then go back on their word! Make sure you follow up yourself with any third party ‘allegedly’ used. Wish we had read the reviews prior to even looking at this garage. Issues with the car within the first couple of days, taken back and advised issue sorted! Still did not seem right so took it to another garage and they had done a complete bodge job, used silicon to repair a hose which ruptured. Got the car back and still playing up was assured they would take it to a Volvo main dealer for us and would get photos ect to prove this. Did not hear from them so chased, have messages to show that they said they had tried to get it into Volvo but could not get it in for some time so took it to a local reputable garage (checked the owner on companies house) But said that Volvo did test drive it before! They did book the car in with Volvo which we found out ourselves but just did not turn up. Volvo have also advised that the car would have had to be logged, even for a test drive as taken off site. Never done!!!!! We were also told that once the car had been checked by Volvo and we were still not happy, we could have our money back, denies this too! When we picked up the car from having work done at the ‘local reputable garage’ we were also told he would add an additional 6 months warranty! To let the existing one run until it ended and he would add another 6 months….. chased this last two days and was told. Oh have you not had it yet I will chase and call me tomorrow! In the meantime I called the warranty company and he has NEVER requested any extension!!! Called him to advise that I had contacted them and they had lied AGAIN and I would take this further and he hung up! Says it all! Sold a heap of shit! He knew that, left us without a car at times knowing we rely on having two cars!!! He also laughed at and dismissed what we had been told by other garages. We are not just talking small parts, we are now left with a vehicle we now have to pay over £2k on!
This would have gone on Google too but shock, not able to leave one!

We are sorry to read your review, however we must clarify several important points to ensure an accurate account of events.
The vehicle was returned to us and, on both occasions, the reported concerns were investigated and addressed. The second repair was carried out by an independent VAT-registered garage, where the fault was professionally diagnosed. Components including the air intake pipe and EGR-related parts were replaced, and the vehicle was road tested following completion. All work was carried out at no cost to you and supporting documentation was provided.
We do not accept the suggestion that repairs were “bodged”. The invoice clearly shows that appropriate parts were replaced and the work was carried out correctly. In relation to comments about previous repair methods, there was no indication at the time of inspection of any temporary repair, and in any case the fault was properly rectified.
We would also note that the estimate you provided is dated January 2026, almost two months after the vehicle was purchased. During this time, the vehicle had covered over 2,000 miles since sale, indicating that it remained in regular use. Despite this, we still carried out the repair at our own cost as a gesture of goodwill.
Regarding Volvo, a booking was arranged for diagnostic purposes. However, once the fault had already been identified and repair work was underway with a qualified garage, it was not practical to move the vehicle. The priority was to complete the repair without unnecessary delay.
At no point was an unconditional full refund promised. As explained, all matters are handled in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where concerns arise, a dealer must be given the opportunity to inspect and repair. A refund is not automatic and would only be considered in accordance with the legislation, which allows for a reasonable deduction to reflect the customer’s use of the vehicle.
In relation to the warranty, the vehicle was originally supplied with a 3-month warranty. As a goodwill gesture, we arranged and funded a further 3 months of cover to extend the total warranty period to 6 months. This was not an additional extension beyond that, but to bring the cover up to 6 months in total.
As with any used vehicle of this age and mileage, a reasonable level of wear and maintenance is to be expected, and it should not be compared to a new vehicle. Our responsibility has been to address the specific reported fault, which was diagnosed and repaired appropriately.
We also expect all communication to remain respectful and constructive so that any concerns can be resolved efficiently. We have acted throughout to assist and remain willing to help with any genuine issues raised through the appropriate process.

Sold car with Tampered VINs
Just under a year ago, I purchased a vehicle from Demand Cars LTD. A year later, I am now unable to get the car MOT’d because all of the VIN numbers on the vehicle have been defaced — except for one located on the strut mount in the engine bay. However, this VIN has clearly been stamped on unprofessionally and does not match the original.
I know this because the scratched VIN on the driver-side door is still partially visible, and it is nowhere near close to the VIN that has been stamped on the strut mount.
The car’s registration, along with this (non-original) VIN, comes back completely clean via a HPI check. However, the vehicle came with no paperwork and did not include a V5C at the time of purchase. When I contacted the dealership, they told me to "take it to another MOT centre," failing to realise the seriousness of the issue — the vehicle may not be road legal as a result of VIN tampering. They even went as far as to accuse me of stamping a new VIN in the engine bay and scratching out the original VINs, despite the fact that the original VINs are still partially visible. Furthermore, the VIN they are accusing me of stamping — the one found in the engine bay — is the same VIN they listed on the purchase invoice they gave me at the time of sale.
I have contacted Demand Cars LTD multiple times formally. Despite the severity of the situation, they have chosen to ignore all my attempts to resolve the matter.
As a result, I will be pursuing legal action against Demand Cars LTD in court and will also be reporting them to Trading Standards for their illegal practices.
