Mostly too basic but some interesting stats and data
I found the statistics and numbers interesting, but overall, the course content felt like it was starting to get outdated and too basic to justify the time required to complete it, especially for a single speed camera fine (stats on vehicle speed great though). As someone who recently moved from another state, I would have appreciated more detailed information about Oregon-specific traffic laws and differences, such as rules for mopeds and the requirements for turning at red arrows versus regular red lights. The course timers and audio also need improvement. When reading the slides without audio, I often finished early but still had to wait for the timer. When listening to the audio, sometimes it ended before the allotted time, leaving me waiting, while other times it continued longer than the slide’s required reading time. Better synchronization between the content, audio, and timers would make the course more efficient and less frustrating to complete.

The course covers more than 80 Oregon-specific statutes from the Oregon Revised Statutes, along with well-known laws like the Move Over law, Basic Speed law, Open Container law, and more. We keep the content focused on Oregon because most students aren’t looking to compare our state’s laws with other states. Your suggestion about mopeds is a good one, though those topics weren’t part of the requirements set by Beaverton Municipal Court. Our read-along narration is usually very well received. The pacing was chosen to maximize comprehension, but we understand it doesn’t suit everyone, and your report that the audio and timers fell out of sync is useful. We’ll pass that along to our technical team. Our records show you registered, completed the course in under two days, and your completion was reported to Beaverton Municipal Court the next day.
