I received a pre-approved debt…
I received a pre-approved debt consolidation of $80K at 0% APR which would save me $833/month. After going to the web site, and looking at the offer, I was sent to Simple Debt Solutions, who presented a debt settlement (with Five Lakes Law Group running). The mailed offer is made using loan terms (0% APR), but what was offered was not a debt consolidation loan, but debt settlement, which is a program where the amount of debt is negotiated down (usually when the company doesn't think it is going to get paid). This can have an incredible impact to credit score. Though this is the right offer for some people, especially if they are already missing payments and in danger of bankruptcy, this isn't my situation, which was all amount saving money on interest and maintaining my current credit score. I am giving Debthuntch a two since having an APR and Interest Rate implied to me that I was pre-approved for a loan offer, which was not the case. It is two and not zero since both Simple Debt Solutions and Five Lakes Law Firm had great customer service, and the cancellation of the paperwork once fully reviewed was simple and painless.

Jay, we received your provided information from Trustpilot, which finally allowed us to investigate your experience. Multiple calls have been made to you in hopes of possibly resolving your concerns, but we have been unable to reach you. As a result, we'll do our best to address here. We've listened to the entirety of your one hour call with Simple Debt Solutions (SDS) multiple times. We were surprised by your review because throughout the call you displayed no objections or raised any concerns, but sounded very pleased with the offer presented and that you selected. You were matched with SDS because they offered superior offers that Debthunch thought you would be interested in hearing about given your specific situation. Our goal is always to match you with the most affordable debt consolidation solution that provides you with the greatest savings and pays off your debt in the shortest amount of time possible. Below are the highlighted points for prospective customers to consider from the objective investigation conducted by Debthunch and SDS. In the beginning of the call the SDS debt consolidation expert (DCE) asked what you wanted to accomplish with a debt consolidation of your $80K in debt. You expressed that your objective was to 1) save money and 2) pay off your debt faster. The DCE asked this so that he could present offers that would best help you achieve your objective. You agreed to have the DCE process your provided application information and present available offers. After running a soft credit pull and analyzing your credit history, debt balances, debt-to-credit ratio, debt-to-income ratio and monthly income the DCE confirmed there were multiple offers available for you. The DCE asked if he should start with sharing the offer that saved you the most money and paid off your debt the fastest to align with your objective. You agreed to proceed with starting that way as it made sense to do so. The first offer presented by the DCE could reduce your current monthly debt payment by about 60% with a 5 year term to pay off your debt. Or by 20% with a 2.5 year term. Both provided the same total savings to pay off your debt. You selected 60% with a 5 year term, which reduced your monthly payments by nearly $1,000 per month. Far better than the initial Debthunch offer. Upon your selection of this offer the DCE explained all conditions, terms and every aspect of the offer. This included a temporary impact to your credit score for the offer you selected and that the presented offer you selected was not a cash loan whereby funds would be sent to your bank account for you to use however you want, but payments would be paid directly to your lenders. As shared by the DCE, debt consolidation may have a temporary impact to credit score and in that case usually follows the path of a checkmark where it is impacted temporarily and then rebounds and shoots up above your initial credit score as your debt is paid off. At no point during the call did we hear you object, hesitate or decline what was presented or request to be presented with other offers. If you had objected or declined the presented offer you selected, then the DCE would have presented additional offers with different terms and less savings for you to consider. Below is an excerpt at the very conclusion of the call after all aspects and conditions of the offer you selected had been thoroughly explained. DCE: Are there any other questions or are you ready to move forward? Jay: It sounds great, I'm all in. I'm ready to move forward. You were indeed preapproved to be extended credit pursuant to the Debthunch offer. The APR reference for your specific offer was exclusive to the 21.99% APR estimated example used to illustrate an assumed APR on your existing $80K comprised of some credit card debt and mostly personal loan balances. The APR was simply to act as an illustration to reference how your current payment estimate was calculated on your credit cards and personal loan balances in contrast to what you could possibly save by using Debthunch to pay off your debt. We were surprised that after what sounded like you being very pleased with the offer you selected and agreed to you later changed your mind. Debthunch and SDS did our best to help you achieve your objective. We realize despite pleasing most customers, many of which are in your same situation, we can't always achieve that for everyone. We take great pride in the fact that we've been able to help a tremendous number of customers over the 18+ years we've been in business. Even a small percentage of them have expressed how pleased they were with our service by voicing their experience in our many 5-star reviews. We've been fortunate enough to meet the expectations of most and as a result been honored by the prestigious Inc. 5000 five times in total and most recently for a fourth year in a row (2015, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022). We wish you the best on your journey to pay off your debt.
