He had a business degree from UNC Charlotte, two years of experience as a superintendent for a public homebuilder in Gulfport, Mississippi, and a firm belief that he was ready to build something of his own.He relocated to Huntsville and started Davidson Homes from scratch. The timing was rough — 2009 was the tail end of the housing market collapse, one of the worst periods for homebuilding in decades. Adam started anyway and spent the first three years not just running the company but physically helping build the homes himself.His first sale came that year. By 2011, Davidson Homes developed its first community in Priceville, Alabama. By the end of 2012, the company had closed 39 homes — enough to bring on its first superintendent and first sales agent.
