He had a business degree from UNC Charlotte, two years of experience as a superintendent for a public homebuilder in Gulfport, Mississippi, and a firm belief that he was ready to build something of his own.He relocated to Huntsville and started Davidson Homes from scratch. The timing was rough — 2009 was the tail end of the housing market collapse, one of the worst periods for homebuilding in decades. Adam started anyway and spent the first three years not just running the company but physically helping build the homes himself.His first sale came that year. By 2011, Davidson Homes developed its first community in Priceville, Alabama. By the end of 2012, the company had closed 39 homes — enough to bring on its first superintendent and first sales agent. Kim Mulder and Kat have done a wonderful job assisting us in the purchase of your home. Your organization should be very proud of both of them. They turned around a not very positive experience and did it with dignity and professionalism. While I haven’t settled on the home yet I feel confident everything will be handled properly. Without those two, I would be living in a different community.

Although Davidson Homes is a large national organization, we recognize the fact that it is still a family owned entity that understands they are not just building a dwelling; they are building someone's home. Our sales representative Amy King made us feel right at home. When she didn't have an answer, she made a call on the spot to ensure we knew every aspect of what we were getting into. Although our home build has yet to begin, she is now part of the family and will be for a long time. She didn't point us to a location or alternate build. She took the time to bring us there. That made all the difference to us.
