Data Engineer AcademyReviews of dataengineeracademy.com

"I joined the Data Engineering Academy to strengthen my SQL skills, and it’s been an excellent experience. The tutorials cover all levels, and the coaches — especially Afnan Saeed — are knowledgeable, patient, and supportive. The academy provides honest feedback and guidance that truly helps you grow and keep up with the fast-changing data world. I’m grateful to the team, including Christopher Garza and Nikolai, for their support.

I signed up for DEA because I foresaw that my company was moving in a strategic direction that meant I would have to look for a job soon. And I am glad I did because my foresight was correct. So far, I have been working through the preparation material over the last couple of months while still working full time. The staff was very patient with me on the challenges of working through the program while fully employed - shoutouts to Cristi Mamota for being flexible and consistent on keeping accountability. Some of the material could use more polish as the audio and video is not always great and the structure/ordering did not always seem logical. All of the staff is great for mock practice and if you’ve never done mocks before then this will boost your capability significantly. Overall, I would recommend this to most if you can look past the lack of polish and recommend starting on smaller tiers of the service and moving your way up as you gain more conviction in the program.

I came in with intermediate to advanced level knowledge in OOD, looking to build real world data skills. I am learning what I need as every job listing requires something else new that I don't know and they teach it ALL here with a multitude of practice questions, tutorials and documentation, community support on skool and live chat on the platform for building memory and dissecting questions about day to day real world applications from top companies. I'm intermediate with SQL now and advancing at a decent pace. Coaching and check-ins keep me on track without letting me get ahead of myself. I share my experience daily with everyone I know to entice them to learn data. I'll have more credibility inside my new job when I can excel in a team environment to help them grow with me. I have no desire to stop at analyst, I plan to stay onboard until I reach senior data engineer. Ingestion and storage of data is my ultimate goal.

I had a really positive experience working with them. They not only guide you step by step through the process but also provide valuable support with mock interviews, resume preparation, and navigating job applications. What really stood out to me was how practical their approach is—they focus on real-world scenarios and help you build the confidence to showcase your skills effectively. If you are considering a transition or looking for growth in the data engineering field, I highly recommend working with them. Their mentorship and guidance can make a big difference in helping you reach the next step in your career.

Data Engineering is very rigorous with follow-ups ensuring that candidates indeed are upto speed with the materials and project work. I also found it easy working with their SMEs, brainstorming questions and seeking personal feedback. All in all, they have a very nice structure to intake candidates and their backgrounds and then tailor a plan for them.

DEA has been great, the online interactive course is amazing and very approachable. Their knowledge on whats the best way to attack learning data tech stacks is super helpful allowing me to learn full tech stacks very quickly! The mentorship has been amazing and very kind. Yash has been very reassuring and helpful throughout the process which has definitely kept me motivated and determined to continue learning!

Currently going through the materials and everyone here has been more than available to help me with questions that I have. I find value in this program and wouldn't change the experience with anything else.

Great instructors and good learning of fundamentals.
