⚠️ ATTENTION ALL CUTX AUTO LOAN HOLDERS: CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS FOR FRAUD CHARGES! If you have a vehicle loan with Credit Union of Texas (CUTX), log in to your account and check your statements immediately. CUTX is silently charging customers $68.24 (or more) every month for "Collateral Protection Insurance" (CPI). They do this even if you already have full, active insurance coverage on your car! Even I have cancelled this (LOAN ADVANCE INSURANCE PAYMENT PROTECTION From day One they refused to cancel the same) They will call these "legit charges" and refuse to cancel them, stealing thousands of dollars from unsuspecting members. They make it impossible for out-of-state members to make free, normal payments. They refuse to issue debit cards, and charge a ridiculous $18.00 fee just to pay over the phone, or $18.00 to accept a wire transfer on top of what your outside bank charges you! On a $591.76 monthly payment, they are stealing an extra $48.00 in fees every single month. They are even attempting unauthorized automatic withdrawals from outside bank accounts and hitting members with $25.00 Insufficient Funds (NSF) fees when they fail! DO NOT LET THEM CHEAT YOU. Call them at 866-382-0069 to demand a refund. If they refuse, file an immediate complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) at consumerfinance.gov. Protect your money and cancel/refinance your loans away from CUTX immediately!

I added a family member to my account as an authorized to user and not a co-owner of the account the representative told me that those were two different things it was very easy to do that but now that I want to take this family member off my account it's very difficult we have to come in to the banking facility I can't request that that family member be removed the family member has to request it and this only can be done at the facility not over the phone or online or through email or fax but that's how it was done to initially put this family member on my account so it'll be very difficult to remove the family member off my account because our schedules do not coincide for both of us to be at the banking facility at the same time

Applied for a mortgage with this company, and it’s been nothing but problems from the beginning. The agent assumed I had a mortgage on a house and immediately told me I wasn’t qualified. He backtracked on his decision after he saw that I didn’t have a mortgage. Also keep in mind, he asked me my race during the first call and it was all downhill from there. I’m not trying to accuse anyone of being racist but the tone definitely changed once he found out I have a lot to bring to the table plus more as far as purchasing a house. And then on top of that he tried to lie about the requirements. I will never apply for anything with these people ever again.

Worst credit union ive ever had the displeasure of trying to work with. Guess they are in the business of not answering the phone, returning calls or emails or voicemails. A joke. Had a pre- approved loan but could never get through to use said loan on a car purchase. They NEVER FOLLOW UP! I will be canceling all my accounts and membership if I can ever speak with someone anyone who might answer their calls!!!!

Twice I have tried to join this credit union after seeing all the billboards. Apparently, I should’ve checked the reviews first. The attention given to me was nothing but a joke. I guess trying to support local businesses was a mistake. Avoid this institution at all costs.

I have happily banked with CUofTX for over a decade, with savings/ loans, etc but their customer support methods have recently changed for the worse. You can't get someone on the phone, must set up an " appointment" and when they call back it's from a noisy call center. While they are helpful, the old feeling of a local community bank seems to be missing. Its incredibly frustrating to get to the right person/ place to sort things out now.

I would not recommend CUTX at all, to anyone based on my experience. From the beginning, I was fully transparent about my financial situation, including multiple rental properties and shared ownership. I also asked several times whether there were any concerns with my file and was consistently told everything looked good. Based on that guidance, I moved forward with selling my home that I had lived in 10 years and entering into a purchase contract. Then, very late in the process, (less than 2 weeks to closing!) my loan was denied due to debt-to-income concerns tied to the same rental properties that had been disclosed from day one. This was not new information. It should have been identified and addressed early in the process, not after major financial decisions had already been made. The entire situation raises serious concerns about the quality of their review process and whether files are being properly evaluated upfront. The lack of early diligence and communication created unnecessary risk and stress during an already time-sensitive transaction. I would strongly advise working with a different lender that performs a thorough and accurate underwriting review from the start.

Like always my experience today was a disaster, Robert took my petition for a replacement card , the same person that before had asked me to get a second checking to avoid fraudulent charges! What a lie! I was there for the same reason and then he added: and you’re debit card could be taken away and you wouldn’t be able to do transactions unless you visit the branch! Mehta a bunch of garbage! It is not my fault that my debit card numbers were stolen and used in a couple of fraudulent charges. Anyway nobody at a Bank should be threatened specially a Customer of over ten years! And a Veteran! Beware of all the fees: transaction, transfer, over the a border fees international fees? What a bunch of crooks and they still work there. Stay away! I already told my wife to withdraw the more than $ 30,000 in a savings accounts and will go to another bank! Angry in Mesquite Tx.
