Updated - insist on clarification.
I paid for a logo design ($119) and once a final version was ready they claim to have applied to get a trademark and that I needed to pay $1250 to finish the application. The initial communication was very unclear about the consequences of not doing so. However, the issue has been resolved and I have the product as promised. If you run into difficulty, insist on written clarification as much as needed for you to understand. I don't not anticipate any further issues with this company, and I have a logo I am happy with.
