I purchased a fuel pump for my rv generator at the Dallas store while traveling. When installed it made noise but did not pump fuel. I was far from the store by then. This pump was 304.00. I purchased another one from Amazon for 25.00 and it did work. I have been attempting to return this defective pump for over a month. I have emailed the warranty/support people more than 10 times. I no longer even get a response. When I call I get someone from India that does not speak good English and does not help me. I have also left messages that no one calls back. This company was a good American business for many years. Now they are simply avoiding me hoping I will just go away. I have a very legitimate warranty claim and they won't address the problem. this is very poor business.

I need to start saying that we have had no issues with the generator or service staff. We did have a major issue with the company. When we scheduled our annual service, they insisted that we provide credit card information stating they would not charge the card until the service was completed. That didn't happen, we were charged and then charged again after the service was completed. Interestingly, the 2 charges were different. When we called to explain the situation, Cummins was very difficult to deal with. They admitted to the overcharge, but to get credit, they insisted we fill out a bunch of paperwork AND a W-9??? We called our credit card company and they took care of it. Very disappointed in Cummins handling of the situation.

Clearly Cummins is charging 10x the service cost to make money off of their defective generator's. Staff is overworked due to all the broken generators. They charge 10x the cost to make money on the defective product. When you finally speak with someone in the warranty group, they are so stressed out. Their Whole House Standby Generator's are all breaking, so they are swamped. You can speak with the same person every few days and they do not remember anything and say something like "Oh, I have a note to follow-up on that" They say how short handed they are and how they have alot of generators broken. Cummins, an American made generator, much more expensive than the competition, but a complete disaster to own. Timing: 6 weeks with no real progress.. still no working generator. Product reliability: 1 out of 10 Warranty coverage: 1 out of 10. Service cost: $4,866 in labor and travel to replace the broken motor. Cummins is charging for service than it would cost to buying a new generator from the competition.

I own a 1994 motor coach with a Cummins engine. I have easily located a Cummins service center several times in the last 7 years. This time when I call Cummins support I get misinformation and absolutely no support. Because of the bad Cummins personnel I’ve had to find independent repair shops. Cummins advertises full help when needed but it’s a nightmare.
