I'm a first time rental provider
I'm a first time rental provider. CHS contacted me regarding my RCI membership and using my six (6) bonus weeks. The person who called was courteous and responsive to questions. I was told that my 'extra vacation' or bonus weeks would be marketed for $1,600-$1,800 each. My upfront cost would be $400 (each) for a total of $2,400. I was a little leery of paying up front for services with no real guarantee even though the word was used repeatedly (the guarantee is not that they will use/rent my weeks nor that they would refund my money if they didn't process them within 6-months, rather, they only guaranteed that they would re-advertise them without additional cost to me). I was also put off by the pressure put on by the closer (validation department). I was sent a contract to sign and said that I would look it over and sign it when I returned home (I was driving when they called). She tried pressuring me to 'just look at it on my phone - it is easy to sign on a smart phone'. I wanted to read reviews about the company and prior users. The reviews were mixed - most were either 5-stars or 1-stars (majority). Most of the 1-star reviews appeared to reflect upon the vacation site rather than CHS. For this reason I decided to participate and made six (6) of my bonus weeks available (the maximum allowed). I will follow up with a review at the 3- and 6- month intervals to share my experience.
