I (along with my husband) joined Contrarian Thinking about a year ago after being laid off from my fintech career of 30 years. I’ll be honest—I was skeptical. I assumed it might be “another one of those weekend events” that tries to pull you into something. A year later, I’m thrilled to say I was wrong! I closed on my first small business in February of 2026 and I couldn’t be happier. CT gave me the confidence, the tools, and the community to make the leap from corporate life into ownership. Codie is classy, genuine, down‑to‑earth—and clearly an exceptional leader. The value we’ve received has far exceeded the cost. I’ve learned a ton and continue to learn every single day. Additionally- my husband, who was in fintech for 24+ years, quit his W2 and started (as opposed to acquiring) his own small business with 2 partners- also thanks to CT! Goodbye, corporate life. Codie and her team at Contrarian Thinking have been a welcome voice of support, inspiration, and challenge for me as I look to run my business and lead my team in the best way. Where to start, well as Codie Sanchez says, "steal our 10,000 hours. She means it! This is an incredibly organized, researched, energized bunch of relaxed dressed business geeks that want you to succeed at understanding what it takes to find a business to buy that will boom not bust. You learn the skills for finding off market deals and on, the conversation hacks to position yourself in the front of a line of candidates to get your purchase proposal taken seriously and the confidence to push yourself to the finish line. I would recommend Contrarian Thinking to Scrooge, and see how fast he would open his wallet to create greater wealth.

The team is constantly challenging me to think bigger, move faster, and plan to stay ahead of the curve. So glad I joined the group. Lots of great business owners for networking, and lots of talent on CT and GB to help me get to the next level. Joining the Contrarian Thinking Boardroom has honestly been one of the best investments I’ve made in my business and it's only been a month. Codie and her team run a really strong program, but the biggest impact for me has been working with my coach, Alex Hooper. Alex has a way of cutting straight through the noise and getting to the real issue quickly. He’s also given me ideas and strategies I genuinely never would have thought about on my own. Every call leaves me with a clear action plan and the accountability to actually execute it. Even in the first few weeks, I’ve already been able to increase revenue, cut unnecessary spending, and start putting real systems and SOPs in place so the business runs more efficiently instead of everything living in my head. Contrarian Thinking's small business advisory practice, The Boardroom, is so much more than a typical "coaching" program. Codie and her team deliver a top-tier consulting engagement tailored to each owner's unique business goals. Consulting engagements like this were once only available to F500 companies and were very expensive. Codie made this available to the mom-and-pop family businesses that once filled our main streets, which now either sell to PE or compete with it. Great opportunity for people that want to make a difference in life through business. Personally spoke with one of their representatives - Adrian and the guy was very genuine, transparent for the Academy. I consider the culture in the whole company and academy is like his and I would love to get to know them better and acquire a business together in the team.
