Unprofessional review system I wrote a review of a freelancer, but its text is not visible on their profile. Support confirmed that the review counts toward the rating, but an internal algorithm decides which review texts are displayed. This cannot be changed manually, and there is no other place on the platform where the full list of reviews can be seen. If the algorithm filters a text out, nobody will ever see it. In my opinion this is unprofessional. Why encourage clients to write reviews if there is no guarantee that anyone will read them? It should work like Trustpilot, where every review is publicly visible. Support's answers were generic, and the platform feels like it is managed mainly by AI. That is not what I am looking for, so I am leaving Contra and deleting my account.

Do NOT bring your own clients to Contra. First of all, the platform relies on freelancers to bring clients, because there’s barely any work on it. When I brought my client and he made a payment, they blocked the funds and said the review would take 24-48 hours. Any halfway competent platform that cares about its freelancers would flag the payment, email me, and ask for whatever proof they need. I’d send it, and they’d approve it. Instead, they emailed my client first, asking him for information about a payment he had already made. How can anyone think that’s a good idea? The client should never be involved unless the freelancer fails to provide the information. Worse, there’s no real support system. No ticket ID, no auto-response, no confirmation. You email an address and get dead silence until someone replies. It took me hours of follow-ups just to learn what was actually holding up my payment. Apparently my client did not reply to their email requesting for information. Just imagine how dumb this whole thing is. Ironically, it's a 60years old disabled old man that I decided to send a simple contra payment link to make the experience easier for him. There are also only around 250 jobs across all fields at any given time, for hundreds of thousands of users. If you bring your own clients, bill them through Stripe instead. Never bring your clients to Contra. They are amateurs with a nice looking platform.

Joined Contra for the Lovable challenge. Got no code as we we're promised. Contacted support, spoke to AI support, they wouldn't help me. Asked to be contacted by support team. No answer, two days afterwards they ask me to review the conversatio so here's my review.

Very poor experience. Also I'm unable to login, they say they send email but never send, support is non existent. I would not recommend.

I contacted support because I still can’t get my account verified, even though I’ve already paid for the subscription. The verification keeps saying my image is blurry, but the photo is crystal clear and high quality. It looks like there may be an issue with the third-party verification system rather than the image itself. Could you please help me verify my account or provide another verification option?

Contra collects fees and payments but doesn't seem to take any responsibility when things go wrong between client and freelancer. Instead of helping resolve the issue, my account was suspended with no clear reason and no way to appeal. Support confirms a human reviewed the decision, but refuses to disclose the actual reasons and flatly rejects any further appeal. A platform that charges money for facilitating and handling projects should also take responsibility when something goes wrong. Instead, you lose access to projects, communication, and business relationships without explanation. I can't recommend Contra as long as there's no real accountability and no fair process to resolve disputes.

THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM. I signed up for this platform on a client's recommendation and delivered a service to them. I waited almost 48 hours, and then they refunded my client's payment. The client got the job, and I got nothing. It's truly unbelievable. Their platform has hundreds of AI-generated pieces of content created by bot accounts, and I was suspicious when I saw this. It's a huge disgrace. Nobody is happy with this place. If you ever want to do business with this platform, seriously, stay away. They're nothing more than a bunch of amateurs who don't even know what they're doing.

It took forever for them to approve my invoice and after they got my invoice approved, it's Time to withdraw do do all sult of verification even including contacting my client for legitimate with I think it's normal but after that was done, instead of them approved my withdrawal after my client as replied them and comfirm the legitimate of our work the customer support that was active became silent, there customer support didn't reply Me again and up till know I don't here anything from them and unable to withdraw my funds, it's so painful, Please release my funds 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😢😢😢
