I'm a student here, and these first days are hell. First, the entire site changed to me needing an email that I cannot access, so I call the support. I get sent to another number, and their line is busy every time I call, so I keep recalling because if its busy they're bound to put me on hold. I think I have been blocked for recalling so frequently, but I still cannot log in at all because I have to "Contact my admin" because "There is no authentic method to continue for this account". I am usually able to just use my personal things for school, like my personal laptop and personal phone at least to log in and make sure everything is set up. Neither work to log in, and it's completely frustrating.

I was trying to transfer from one state connections academy to this tuition -based one, as we had moved states. I submitted all of the required paperwork, was told via phone and the online application system that everything was complete. I was asked to pay and I did, in full. The next day, the school portal is blank - no classes, no teachers, and notices that documents sent were missing. I uploaded the documents again, only to be told that more assessments were needed to determine grade placement - absurd, given that the official report card was sent twice! I call again about this. Why rely on a 10 question test when you have your own connections academy report card for a whole year? Still no response, and I was told I cannot contact anyone involved in instruction at the school. I don’t have a principal’s name, a teacher, nothing. Just sales reps doing admissions.

If I could rate a zero I would. I had to submit two different applications for each of my students. Both times I was told that certain documents where were not accepted or had not been submitted. When I would speak to staff they would reassure me that everything was submitted successfully and I just had to wait for enrollment team to review. That was a lie! I would call a few days later to confirm if the documents had been approved just for staff to tell me I never submitted them and that the same document I was told that were approved where not reflecting in their system. Please save yourself the stress, the headache, and your time! I know have to look for another homeschool when they should have started yesterday!

Connections Academy was great for my students at first. 5 years in and they are ridiculous. Taking “attendance” and all the memorize and regurgitate testing is inadequate. Don’t get me started on their IT department; most of them are foreign and I can’t understand what they’re saying. God forbid you have an issue because they’ll just deactivate your account and no chance of getting it back. Homeschool your kids!

First time trying online school for my child thinking it was the best option. They kept denying documentation through the application process even though it was correct. Spoke to multiple representatives and they all tell you something different. Some say it’s correct not to worry about it while others continue to increase the timeframe to correct their error. Once application submitted you can’t make changes so everything is done through them. Yet, the department they claim is in charge of that process no one can communicate with. They just tell you to wait on an email. It’s a disaster. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. Wish I would have read the reviews before even considering them.

I was told my 11th grade student would not need a math SOL until 12th grade but now connections academy does not offer 12th grade and now I am struggling to get my son a math sol to start a new program to graduate. This school hardly communicates with parents and especially once the student has to transition to another program. I would not recommend.

Why is the work so incredibly in-depth. The reading alone takes about 30 minutes per lesson. Not to mention the overflow a student will get once they transfer mid year. 148 overdue assignments. They also have little to no teacher interaction. This is ridiculous.

Deeply frustrated with the enrollment experience I had with Connections Academy. This has truly been the worst enrollment process I have ever encountered. Despite submitting official documents directly from my children’s doctor’s office and their previous school, none of them were accepted. The onboarding process was excessively long and unnecessarily complicated, and I was surprised to learn that Connections Academy expected me, the parent, to handle the submission of all school and immunization records rather than requesting them directly from the previous school, as is standard practice elsewhere. Communication throughout this process was also extremely poor—every time I reached out for help, I was met with the same unhelpful response that the application was "pending due to an unaccepted document," with no real guidance on how to resolve the issue. Because of this experience, we will not be continuing with Connections Academy, and I would not recommend this school to anyone.
