Emma Gonia was the Team Lead; co-workers included Lanie, Jayden and Ava. Emma was personable, professional, thorough, and a pleasure to work with in painting my house. On the second day of the project I injured myself and needed to go to the ER (fractured my right ankle). Emma and Lanie offered to take me... going above and beyond my expectations. They came back and picked me up too! From this point on, Emma would pop in to the house to talk with me with questions or updates, and at the end of the day would walk around the house and create video with narration to show what was completed and what the plan would be for the next day. Again, going above and beyond. I was very happy with the final result and the performance of the entire team. Highly Recommended!

Vickie, what Emma and Lanie did when you were hurt is the kind of thing that sticks with you. Real care shows up in moments like that, and it clearly ran through the whole team. The end-of-day walkthrough videos with narration are a great example of what clear communication looks like when a student leader truly owns a project. That kind of transparency gives homeowners real peace of mind, especially while recovering at home. Emma is a student professional we are proud to have representing College Works in Wisconsin, and Lanie, Jayden, and Ava matched that standard every step of the way. Thank you for trusting us with your home, Vickie, and we hope you are healing well!

Highly Recommend
We hired college student, Vincent Iser to stain our fence. Happy to give a young and energetic young man a chance, and we are glad we did. There was absolutely no pressure during the sales process. Vincent oversaw his crew exactly as expected and managed the entire project with a high level of professionalism. The crew was respectful and professional. We ran into a few expected hiccups along the way, but everything was handled well. The pricing was very affordable. All in all, I would absolutely hire Vincent again and highly recommend his services.

Trish, a smooth sales process, a professional crew, and a project manager who handles the unexpected without missing a beat, that is exactly what College Works is built to deliver. Fence staining takes real attention to surface prep and product application, and when it is done right, the results hold up and look great for years. Vincent is a student leader who clearly took full ownership of your project from start to finish, and the fact that you would hire him again says everything. We are so glad you had a great experience, and thank you for trusting us with your home!

Connor Anderson and College Works Painting in Minneapolis, Minnesota
I am very pleased to offer my enthusiastic recommendation for Connor Anderson, whom I came to know when he managed the painting of my home in Minneapolis, MN, through College Works Painting.
I was genuinely impressed by Connor’s work ethic, professionalism, character, and ability to take on significant responsibility at such a young age. I initially had modest expectations when I agreed to consider having a college student manage the project of painting my home. Connor and his team far exceeded those expectations—not only in the quality of their work, but in the way they handled an unusually demanding project.
My home turned out to be a far more complicated painting project than anyone could have anticipated. It required an extraordinary amount of detailed labor, extensive caulking and sealing repairs, numerous touch-ups, and substantial additional work that emerged as the project progressed. Much of the work also had to be performed in punishing summer heat, on tall ladders and on rooftops. It was the kind of project that could easily have become frustrating or overwhelming.
Connor handled it remarkably well. He worked exceptionally hard every day, from arranging early-morning paint pickups and deliveries to coordinating multiple crews and projects, adjusting schedules and workloads, troubleshooting problems, communicating with clients, and stepping in to do the physical work himself when necessary. At the same time, he successfully managed a diverse group of peers and navigated the expectations of clients considerably older than he was.
I am a professional in my late forties, and I have had plenty of opportunities to observe people in demanding work environments. I was particularly struck by the maturity and professionalism Connor demonstrated at only twenty years old. He consistently remained composed, pragmatic, attentive, and solution-focused, even when circumstances became difficult. His judgment and demeanor were more impressive than those of many people I have encountered who were decades older and considerably more experienced.
As my project became increasingly involved, Connor also demonstrated an unusual degree of conscientiousness and personal accountability. The additional repair work, materials, and labor meant that the project ultimately became much more demanding than originally anticipated. Through no one’s fault, it also became less financially favorable than his original projections. Nevertheless, Connor never allowed those setbacks to diminish his commitment to doing the job properly. He continued to hold himself, his crew, and the finished product to a very high standard. What impressed me most was that his commitment to doing excellent work did not seem dependent on the project being easy or convenient for him.
I was also impressed by Connor’s ability to manage people. Leading a group of peers is difficult under any circumstances, particularly at his age, but I watched him handle the role with patience and thoughtfulness. He earned my respect not simply by working hard himself, but by taking responsibility for the people and work around him.
Connor and his crew ultimately produced an excellent result, and they treated my home with care throughout the process. I have received numerous compliments from neighbors about how well the house turned out, and I could not be happier with the finished work.
I have no doubt that Connor will continue to grow professionally and take on increasingly significant responsibilities. Based on what I observed firsthand, I would be very comfortable recommending him for future professional opportunities and would be happy to provide a strong personal reference on his behalf. Thank you Connor!

Kevin, a project that grows in scope, demands physical work in tough conditions, and still finishes to a standard that earns compliments from neighbors is exactly what College Works is built to deliver. Connor brought the kind of ownership, composure, and accountability that we expect from our student leaders, and your home reflects that. The fact that unexpected repairs and added labor never changed his commitment to the finished product is a direct result of the standard he holds himself to. We are so glad you had a great experience, and thank you for trusting us with your home!

College Works Painting did a great job…
College Works Painting did a great job for me. I felt the price was reasonable and they worked around my busy schedule with finesse. I particularly appreciated Project Foreman Bekan Hill’s help. He was highly communicative and did a great job keeping me informed every step of the way. It gives me hope for the future to interact with such hard working young men.

Small job done professionally
Sophie and Braxton were great to work with. They were friendly and professional, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the paint job.
Mateo coordinated things and kept us informed. They had an equipment malfunction on another job that caused a one-day delay on ours, but Mateo updated us and then stuck to the new schedule.
Very satisfied overall.

Van Nguyen
Van Nguyen, Bodie and Isabella are a good crew. Van did a particularly good job as crew boss. Old house quirks, wasps, rain. They handled it all and modified schedules and plans as needed.
I choose this company based on the paint job done on another house in my area. I would recommend your company for the value of this program, noting that you are likely to get a different crew.
Service dates 6/29/26-7/9/26.

My house looks worse than before
My house looks worse than before it was painted, I feel swindled by this business.
They approached us (knocked our door) offering services, contracted with us and painted our home in 2024, everything the following year started to chip. Early 2026 I contacted them to ask about the quality of the work as it was continuing to widespread chip. They offered to come inspect the site despite it being just out of warranty window. They decided this wasn’t a prep or quality issue but instead the consequence of our wood siding already having moisture in it, and it was something “no one could have known until it was painted”.
I feel like a painting business should be able to know this beforehand, if not test a small portion somehow in the same way you test wall paint before applying it full scale. I would not recommend them. To sell this house we’ll likely have to paint it a second time in the future.
