After years of working in a typical 9-5 job, I finally made the decision to go the route of self-employment in 2021. I decided to try out Collective to help me with the business formation process, as well as advising on taxes, and ultimately, I have not regretted that decision in the slightest. Not only has Collective allowed me to put 100% of my focus on developing my business (rather than worrying about back office & compliance related issues), but it also has helped me save money in taxes that I otherwise would not have without the help of the Collective team. Based on my personal experience with Collective, I think it is well worth the cost, and would recommend them to anyone looking to become a self-employed entrepreneur.

Collective has made running my business seamless AND it's cheaper than doing the back-office myself. Using Quickbooks is expensive, and I didn't have the support system I now have. Now that I have a team to support me, I can focus my full efforts on running my business. Highly recommend any freelancer offload his or her back-office to Collective ASAP!

Collective is far better than any individual accountant I have ever had. I had been looking for an accountant that was focused on solopreneurs for years, and when I was introduced to Collective, I was in awe by how they specialized in my space. They know all the answers to my questions. Lucky to have them. Don't plan on ever changing.

Working with Collective is everything I needed in a finance team. My questions get answered with care, everyone is so knowledgeable, and of course the PRICE?! A steal for what you're getting! I'm so happy I'm saving so much more on my taxes than I have before and I understand my numbers! That's a huge plus for me. I really cannot recommend them enough.

Not sure where I or my business would be without Collective. The biggest selling point for me is the 1-1 personal service that I receive. When I have a question, no matter how elementary, my advisor gets back to me in a few hours with a super helpful explanation. They've not only helped me save money on my taxes but now I have a better understanding of how to manage and grow my business. I've referred every business owner I know to Collective (which is huge, because I'm very cautious about putting my name on the line!). Prior to working with Collective, my business was bringing in a lot of revenue - but I had no idea how to manage it effectively. I was guessing at how much to pay the IRS, my books were a disaster, and I was getting the run around from a regular accountant who couldn't be bothered with my basic questions. I'm so thankful for all the amazing support my Collective team provides - they've been a key ingredient in my success in the last year!

I found Collective before my solo gig. I knew I needed something, and at that time there were few options. I have been a member for 2.5 years. My needs were to outsource everything which was not my focus. Could I have done it myself? Sure. I compared their service with local accountants, and the investment was so much more value than old school accountants. What Collective did for me: setup my LLC, get my EIN, helped to setup my biz bank, and setup Gusto and Quickbooks. My experience: I loved the async work with them. First they used slack and then moved to a group email box connected to some fancy back end software. Yeah there is a delay in replies, but nothing really is urgent so I am ok with a 3-7 day delay. Bookkeeping is great. I don't have much going on in terms of transactions, but having clean books saves me time. Worth the cost. Taxes are pretty good. Only complaint is that I wish there was some financial consulting to help save more / spend better / invest / etc. They do my personal and biz taxes. Its pretty much a seamless process - I collect the docs and upload to a site, they enter into the tax software and send the taxes in. I don't have complex taxes, so no complaints here. They did a great job. There were times where I had questions, and they had the right answer with a background as to why it is correct. TLC is great. My team (Victoria, Kirk, and others) are amazing. Super nice. I can schedule a meeting when I need one. I would use Collective again and tell my friends about them.

After hearing that an S Corp would be very beneficial for my sole proprietorship I did a little searching and ended up signing with Collective to take care of this... and this ended up being a fantastic decision! Once I got going on the process to set up the s Corp it almost felt like this part of my business was on autopilot as they took care of all the paperwork and filing processes. Throughout the year they handle your bookkeeping and ensure you are paying any state fees, quarterly taxes and etc. then complete your business and personal taxes at the end of the year. It's been great working with them for the full first year; all emails have been responded to promptly and everyone who I speak with feels knowledgeable on theses topics. I would definitely recommend collective to others who want to set up an SCorp!

I've been using Collective for almost two year and have witnessed them grow. Originally, they didn't do bookkeeping and now offer this as a service. While everything isn't perfect, they are FAR better than any accountant I have ever had. In the past, my accountants wouldn't answer questions year around and would spend a minimal amount of time doing my taxes. Collective actually does my taxes and answers all my questions year around and my bookkeeping at an affordable cost.
