This was a great professional development. The PD was thoughtfully organized and very informative. The strategies to help students over come their math trauma were strategies that I have used before, but they didn't have the meaning behind them. Now that I have taken this course I truly see why it is so important to build these strategies without using math at first. Also, the Math Wars Method is amazing. I can't wait to start teaching the Math Wars Method in my 7th grade math classes this school year. The structure of the lessons and the constant formative assessment will definitely help with my struggling students and my classrooms as a whole. If you are looking for a way to help engage ALL learners, take this professional development. The modules were easy to follow, well organized and many notes and PDFs were provided.
