I ordered something based on the picture on their website. What I got was a completely different product. I returned it and paid shipping to return. Cokesbury refused to refund the original shipping charge even though they acknowledged the product wasn't the same as what was pictured. I got representative who said that was company policy. My policy will be not to order anything from Cokesbury again.

On August 4, I found a thumb-index study Bible I was looking for on the Cokesbury site. It had a short delivery wait, no more than a week, I believe. I placed an order, but was later told it was on backorder so it actually took 2 weeks to be shipped and then 4-5 days for delivery after shipment. Opening the box, I saw it was not thumb-indexed. This was the primary reason I purchased it instead of another. They did not acknowledging it being not as described, simply said I could send back AT MY EXPENSE, which of course I had to do. It cost over $18 to return. Once they received it, they tell me it will take 4-6 weeks to receive my refund. So out of a $120.00 purchase ($23 of which was their shipping and taxes, and they would only return $97), after the $18 I had to spend to return for their mistake, I will only receive $79 back. Talk about a rip off. But they said to have a BLESSED day in their email, so I guess that makes it right. Nope. An actual Christian company doesn't conduct itself like that.

Ordered online and part of my Mother's address was removed. She does have a mailbox at her home, but recieves USPS at her post office box. So we never received items. Company refused to refund the money OR resending the items ordered, despite seeing the item was sent back to them from the post office, saying I would have to wait 4-6 weeks till they could see it arrived in. Their warehouse. They don't stand behind your receiving the items shipped! I will stick with Christian Book Distributors going forward!

I ordered books on 23 May 2024 and it was delivered to South Africa on 3 June 2024. Thank you for your service. Sanra

I placed an order on March 25. I received a notice on March 27 that the order was being shipped and was provided with a tracking number. That tracking number shows no movement 8 days later. Both my colleague and I ordered this bible because it said 5-7 day service on the website for this item. The first customer service agent I spoke to acknowledged this description and said that it was deceiving because the work is actually outsourced and Cokesbury gets the bible back with that time frame. The second customer service agent told me to prove what I said about 5-7 days service. Not exactly customer service to attack a customer. This no longer appears to be on the website - but both my colleague and I saw it at the time of order. We had ordered this one bible ahead of placing a larger order for a 5/5 class. Now we will not have the group bibles back in time if we wait until April 12th for receipt. The 2nd customer service agent also said that shipping to a PO Box causes a delay (with USPS?) but that is not clearly noted on the site either. Very frustrating experience.

After an initial horrible customer service experience, I did get a nice response from Kori. She was very helpful and went above and beyond what I was asking for. I originally left a 1 star but upgraded to a 5 star because of her helpfulness.

They are a company that sells Christian literature and the Holy Bible. What they don’t do is tell you the truth! They advertise that the product is in stock, and you find out weeks later that one of their partners that actually stocks the product is out of stock! LEVITICUS 19:11
