We used cleertax for two years and I need to say that we are very disappointed: - they are not responsive, you need to ping them several times to get an answer - they make tons of mistakes, some of which we have noticed on time, but currently we need to redo the whole 2023 because they filed the wrong stuff in the wrong states. - they don't feel responsible for the mistakes they made. they filed an extension on our behalf that was rejected, but they still try to convince us that everything was okay The first year was okay-ish, so we gave them one more chance. They were assuring us that the processes are now better. And now, the CEO is ghosting us when we ask to at least give us the money back for the wrong filings.

Looking at other reviews here, most of them must be false/fake reviews. I've worked with lots of service providers in my career and this is likely the worst experience I've ever had. We used Cleer to file our business tax return. - Though we had sent in our business info well in advance of the return deadline, the 1st time we saw a draft return for me for review was at ~6pm on the filing deadline date, even though I had regularly followed up with Cleer, always hearing "you'll get your draft very soon". Then, once I received the draft, it was terrible - so much was missing, there were incorrect numbers in pretty much every field. It was clearly a last minute shoddy job. - They offered to do an amendment. It took 1 YEAR to get through it, which is crazy. The amount of errors in every step of the way, switching to 2 different accountants on their team (where the 2nd person had little idea what the 1st did), and consistent mistakes even to the last signature page. This has wasted so much of my time. Each of my prior year tax returns I had a different accountant do took literally 20 minutes of my time to review and there were no errors. With Cleer, I've spent over 20 hours for 1 return. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Our experience with Cleer Tax was pretty poor. They asked us to share all our tax documents via Typeform (bit of a red flag?) and tried to redirect us to paid consultations ($250 just for speaking to a human, on top of the $1,000 tax preparation fee). I also had little faith that from a legal standing their procedures were correct (written English errors and contradicting information). I have since contracted another firm (Diana Day Murphy - which I saw someone on the reviews also praising) and I realised I was not gonna file half of the necessary stuff if I had stayed with Cleer. tl;dr Don't recommend. _________________________ Edit to respond: I like how you write that "We understand that no one likes to pay tax and additional compliance with the IRS can be a hassle, but we are following the letter of the law to avoid an audit." It makes you seem the well intentioned company and us the client that doesn't want to pay taxes. That couldn't be further from the truth. We just wanted to pay what we owe and be done with it. And you know what? I'm extremely happy I decided to change accountants. Cleer.tax dragged the process along for over 3 months and nothing was done yet. The new firm did everything we needed in 2 weeks. But you know what's the best part? I sleep well at night because I'm confident everything was done properly. I trust the advice I got from the other firm. If I had filed with Cleer.tax I would always be wondering if you missed something because of your poor written English and lack of organization. I must have spoken to 5 different 'tax consultants' of yours over email. Even today (6 months down the line since we started working together) I got an email from your company saying I should file my taxes smh. PS: You can repeat it all you want that we have an unpaid invoice. The truth is I paid for your tax services and got literally nothing to show for it. Zero.

Everything went south after rebranding. It's a mess. Run away.

I'll never use Cleer Tax again. They're slow and unprofessional. Here's my case: 1. The guy is selling me to file BE-12 even though I told him I'm not a foreign person according to IRS (I hold a Green Card and own the majority of my company) 2. I first contacted Cleer in early February, and a week later, they responded with a questionnaire link that I filled out during payment. I had to fill it out again. Then again, it took them two other weeks to finally accept my financial statements, and it's been another week and a half, and yet my taxes are not ready yet. Worst service ever. They should not be partners of Stripe. I will not recommend them to any of my colleague entrepreneurs. --- To respond to CleerTax'es response, here's the clarification: it took an entire week for your staff to provide me access to the Box where I could put my financial statements. Also, you missed the initial questionnaire I completed while purchasing the tax prep package, so I had to fill it out again. Thanks, I'm pretty sure I'll be happier with any other accountant. Have a good day. --- I decided to give an update on this case. It's March 31st, and my tax accountant hasn't contacted me since March 14. I had to file a support ticket, and they replaced that accountant with someone else. Looks like it's time to find a backup plan. Cleer Tax, your service is just below anything that I could imagine.

Dropped the ball big style and then abandoned as a customer, with fines that ensue. As part of a Tier 1 Accelerator, these guys were awful at every stage. Strongly advise you not to use, ever. So bad. 20 years of tech startup experience we've never had an experience so bad.
