Very poor claims handling. A Clearcover client hit my car, but after a week of waiting, the Clearcover adjuster, plus Littleton representative (who handles claim investigations) haven't provided a resolution for determining damage to my auto. Maybe this is how they offer cheap rates, by ignoring legitimate claims.

Hi Paul, thank you for taking the time to reach out about this. We aim to provide an amazing experience for all our customers and are sorry to hear this is not the case. Upon alerting our Claim Teams about this, we were able to see that your Claim Adjuster was able to connect with you this morning, and payment will be issued today for the repairs. We hoped this helps to alleviate your frustration and get things back on track.

Worse insurance ever!!!
Worse insurance ever!!!! Been trying to get in contact with the claim adjuster haven’t been successful. Been leaving voice mails to adjuster he won’t get back until 3-4 days later. i was in a hit in run accident the guy ran and did damage to my car. I have uninsured motorists coverage. But because i sweared to prevent any more damages to my car i am fault and i have to pay my deductible. We filed a police report and everything and provided all the information about the car color license and everything. But they want to be rude about it. And when you ask to speak to a supervisor they tell you to hold on and hang up and when you call back right away they say oh we will have him get a ahold of you witch is going to be a never. Worse insurance ever. Don’t go based off of price go based off reviews do research before going with a horrible company.

Hi Annie, we always aim to provide an exceptional experience and are sorry that this was not the case given the circumstances of your accident. There are two optional coverages if an uninsured driver is at-fault for an accident. If you have Collision coverage, you can also opt-in to have the Collision Deductible Waiver Coverage, which waives your deductible if you are involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist. Or a policyholder can have Uninsured Motorist Property Damage which provides coverage up to $3500 if an uninsured driver hits you. For either of these coverages to apply, it needs to be verified that the other driver doesn’t have insurance. We want to get you connected to speak with a claim supervisor to get things back on track and help to resolve your frustrations. Please give us a call at 855-444-1875 - select option 1, Monday - Friday, from 9am to 9pm PT. Or feel free to reach out via email and provide your claim number on contact information at [email protected].

I wrecked my car and 23 days later the claim is still in the works. It’s taken them 23 days for them to do what GEICO did in 24 hours. I turned in my claim, it took them 5 days to do anything. Clearcover sent it to The Littleton Group which took a week to get an adjuster. The adjuster took a week as well. Then it took a week to send paperwork to make to mail back. I put a complaint with The Littleton Group and how ridiculous it is to take so long. They really didn’t seem like they cared. I put in a complaint with Clearcover and they sent me a $25 amazon gift card. It really doesn’t make up for it though. I’ve have them for 6 months and paying $200 a month for 2 cars. Then need to make a claim and basically have nothing now. No car, no check for car or rental. I’m negative for the rental I have have had to paid for out of pocket. The $25 gift card is kind of a smack in the face at this point. I can’t wait to go back to GEICO.
If you’ve also had a bad experience with Clearcover please go make a complaint at the Better Business Bureau bbb.org If you make the complaints there it will lower their score. They defiantly don’t deserve the A+ rating they have. No one is reporting it to them and it makes them look like this perfect company. It’s one of the reasons I signed up with them.

Hi Jessie, we’re sorry to hear about your frustrating claim experience. We understand getting into an accident can be stressful, and we take the resolution of your claim seriously. We strive to provide an easy claim experience but unfortunately, there can be unforeseen delays in getting your vehicle back on the road.
We apologize the process has taken so long and issued you the gift card for the inconvenience. If you have Alternative Transportation coverage on your policy; then you can request the reimbursement of a rental vehicle through your claim adjuster. Our "A+" Rating with the BBB is based on various factors that the BBB scores us on, to learn more go to https://www.bbb.org/overview-of-bbb-ratings. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your review and will use it to improve our approach moving forward.

I've been with Clearcover going on 6 months, I received a renewal offer with the price going up and them adding things like road side assistance that I never asked for because of my CSAA, I have never had a claim so not sure why the cost has gone up. I also don't like that I can't manage my policy on-line, Clearcover Representative has to make all changes for you. I decided not to renew my policy with Clearcover, I don't want insurance with a company I don't trust.
Response from ClearcoverAug 22, 2019
Hi James, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you were unsatisfied with your Clearcover experience. We do, however, want to clarify a few of the topics you brought up in your review. We do not require our policyholders to have roadside assistance coverage through us. We only make changes to policy coverages per the request of the policyholder. Being transparent is important to us, especially when it comes to rates of the policy. We email our customers 30 days before the policy renewal to give notice on the renewal rate. Renewal rates can vary upon renewal even if there have not been any accidents. We can understand rates increases can be a frustrating experience, which is why we provided a detailed reason why this happens in a blog post - https://blog.clearcover.com/posts/why-is-car-insurance-going-up-in-ca. Managing your policy via the app is something we are working to bring our customers in the future. At this time to make changes to your policy we do require that you call or chat in with one of our Customer Advocates. We do appreciate your feedback and thank you for giving Clearcover a try.

Why would I change to this company if…
Why would I change to this company if you are more than what I pay now? Sorry but an average of $1650 a year is not a savings but an increase. I live in CA with no accidents, no DUI's or any infractions against my license so why the high quote? Not to mention, this is without knowing if I am covered for a rental, good driver discount, etc.
Response from ClearcoverJul 22, 2019
Hi Roy, we are sorry to hear you didn't see the savings you were hoping for. We recommend double-checking that you are comparing the coverages on our quote with the current coverages that you have now. Our Customer Advocate team would be happy to provide further information about your quoted rate, please give us a call at 855-444-1875 or chat with us online, Monday - Friday, 7am to 7pm PST.

Go with a company with more experience
I agree that most of these reviews are from people who have simply saved money. Once you're in an accident they are very hard to get a hold of. My car was rear-ended in November of 2018 and it took them weeks to even respond to our claim. Once they responded they didn't fight for us at all, and I've been driving around with a huge dent in the back of my car for close to 7 months. Finally after leaving countless voicemails and going around and around with them for months regarding getting the car fixed (they wanted us to front the entire cost initially) they cut myself and my lien holder a check for A THIRD of what the quoted estimated cost of repairs will be. They lose paperwork, can't keep their information straight, and don't respond in a professional or timely manner.
**I’d like to edit to respond to Clearcover’s reply. I won’t address everything- but I want people here to know that this reply was the quickest and most detailed customer service I’ve experienced from Clearcover thus far, take that however you will. The contact they claim after 24 hours of the accident with multiple voicemails was not to me or to the contact number listed on my information through the app (which is the only way to reach them). In regards to the dispute of the voided check, I’ll refer to my original point that this company does not care about the “uniqueness” of your accident and refused to fight for us when we were rear-ended, settling on us being at fault. I did not want to pay my deductible for the repairs knowing that they would, at that point have no issue closing the case. I would like to explain my experience further although I’m not sure what good that will do considering how defensive this representative response reads. Seems that they have the ability to investigate and provide thorough evidence for a case but unfortunately that was not my personal experience.

Hi, Whitney. We're sorry that you are disappointed with your experience. It is important to us that you feel supported, so we'd like to address some of what you've shared. When the accident happened in November we responded to you within 24 hours, and left voicemails so we could get the process started. When we heard back from you one week later, we wrote the estimate within a day and issued a check to your shop within 5 days. 8 weeks later when we received the check we issued back to us in the mail with "VOID" written on it, we reached out immediately to understand what you might need. We called multiple times per week over the following months to understand what you needed and how we could help make you whole but didn't hear back.
We understand that each accident is unique and complicated and that you weren't happy with the resolution, but we feel we did the best we could to communicate with you and provide you with the level of service we promise all of our customers. We're sorry that it wasn't a good experience for you, so we'd like to speak to you directly to understand what we could have done better. If you are willing to chat with us, we welcome the opportunity to learn from your experience and implement changes where necessary. Please feel free to email us at [email protected], and we can setup a time to chat by phone or via email.

Saves money, but they are hard to work with if you need to file a claim!
I cannot wait for my insurance to end with them in a couple months. This company has refused to repair my car after a hit and run, when I provided them information of the other party's car. Be extremely cautious if you're willing to deal with this insurance company. They're very new with little history. Many of these ratings are from people who have just saved money. Saving money is great, but when it comes time to use insurance to get your car repaired, it's nothing but a nightmare with this company.

Hi Cayden, it is important to us that you have the best claims experience possible. Our Director of Claims has reached out and is waiting for final details from you, which will enable us to process the claim.
