Had a issue with the tank on a 2 gallon sprayer, got Nikki it customer support she help me very, very nicely, Nikki took on the responsibly and ran with it, with in a week I was up and running again so I'm going to be buying a back pack sprayer any body want to guess what kind, after Nikki did what she did for me it will only be a Chapin.

If I could give this less than 1‑star, I would. I’ve owned a lot of lawn equipment over the years, and this Chapin spreader (Model 8303) is hands‑down the worst purchase I’ve ever made. The gearbox failed twice in under a year. Chapin sent me a replacement gearbox, and that one failed too. This morning it died again, leaving me to finish spreading product by hand. A “professional” spreader shouldn’t break every time you use it. When I called Chapin support, instead of acknowledging the obvious design flaw, I was told I “didn’t follow the maintenance steps.” I cleaned the hopper after every use and stored the spreader in my garage. According to them, I’m supposed to wash the entire spreader after every use or fertilizer dust will get into the gearbox and strip it. If your gearbox can’t survive normal fertilizer use, that’s a bad design, not user error. This is the same issue countless other buyers have reported — including lawn pros. Chapin’s gearbox design is unreliable, poorly sealed, and simply not built for real‑world use. Customer support blaming the customer instead of fixing the problem is the icing on the cake. I’ve already replaced this junk with a Lesco 101186 stainless steel spreader, which is what professionals actually use. Save yourself the frustration, wasted money, and wasted time. This Chapin model is a complete failure in both engineering and support. Reply to Chopin’s response If you read my post, you would’ve noticed I stated I cleaned out the hopper after each use and stored the spreader in my garage. Your support person (Nicki) stated I needed to wash the entire spreader after each use or fertilizer dust would get into the gearbox and strip it. If the dust is getting into the gearbox and damaging your product, the water from washing the entire spreader will get into the gearbox and destroy the product also. Is that not a reasonable assumption?

In the past, I have ended up buying two Chapin Weed Sprayers. The first one only lasted for one spraying. I am very thorough about cleaning the device out after spraying and this has never happened to me in the past; especially with my Sears sprayer that lasted well over 10 years. I went back to Big R and unfortunately Chapin was the only model still in stock and I was forced to buy another one. SAME THING HAPPENED. Went to use it the next year and it would not hold a pressure charge. Wrote to Chapin and told them of their lousy products and was told "Next time, call us when it happens and we will try to help you fix the problem." I wrote back, "That won't be necessary. I won't be buying another Chapin product EVER!" These are cheaply made products and you will end up having to buy another one year after year.

Other than the long wait to talk to somebody in technical support, my first time calling experience was very good. I first spoke to Amanda in customer support and she said I would need to talk to somebody in Tech support. She transferred my call without losing me and she was a delight to talk to. I then talked to Nikki in tech support. I explained to her what my trouble was and told her how I had troubleshooted on the unit and found it was the cut off. She thanked me about 3 or 4 times for having already done the troubleshooting. I determined a dead. Was the? Cut off. She agreed and said she would mail me a new one. Nikki too was a delight to talk to. I may have had to stay on hold for a little additional time, but I will do that anyday to avoid A I. Because of Amanda and Nicki I give my strong recommendation to purchase Chapin Industrial products!

I purchased a 61800 Backpack Sprayer and the "PLASTIC CLIP" at the end of the shoulder strap predictably broke. The shoulder strap could tow a car and the plastic clip is the weak link in the design. Th sprayer was kept indoors and was not subject to UV rays that may have been detrimental to the plastic clip over the course of time. I called Chapin customer support and they said they would not supply me with a new strap and or clip. They said I would have to purchase another one. This sprayer holds 15 liters of fluid or 3.96 gallons that weighs 35 pounds. The design is obviously flawed and or a designed failure so my neighbors and I will purchase another one. CHAPIN DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND OR CUSTOMERS .........

Purchase a hose end sprayer and I've had some in the past, this one was used about 15-20 times in the last year taking really good care of it after each use The valve started sticking I've reached out to Chapin to ask about warranty and nothing in reply. I wish I saw all the negative reviews earlier but they used to be a good company now they did not even answer the phone or emails

So in 2020 I have purchased my brand new Chapin # 21230 XP Well for a number of years I just kept it in my garage since I had a contract on my house for treatment. After we sold our home I made a decision to save money and I was going to do the treatment myself with very good product, so I put to work my brand new Chapin spraying pump ! Well less than a year total garbage!!! Chapin is all chip plastic manufactured in c…na Pump is a total waste and failure ⚠️ This pump literally is a waste ⚠️ Chapin is putting out there this GARBAGE just to SELL parts down the road. Please people.....do not...do not buy their backpack sprayer. Instead of doing that, just take your $150+ and give it away. Model 60124 4 gal 20V battery backpack sprayer. Four months in had to replace the hose as it burst spraying grass killer all over me. Charger stopped working...unable to charge unit. Then the internal battery stopped holding a charge (this is after four months of use 1 or 2 days a month and then sitting in my basement over the winter). I contacted Chapin for troubleshooting, was told because it is a base model.....no battery replacement is available...what! Do not buy.
