Stranded and angry
Very disappointed in how CHA has handled flight difficulties at the end of our trip. We are currently stranded in an airport in New York unable to fly home and CHA has told us that we are no longer their problem. 20 teenagers and parents left in a state hours from home attempting to get a flight in which we all fit, no transportation, no sleeping accommodations, no help. I DO NOT recommend traveling with CHA if you don't want to have to solve connecting flight issues alone.
Response from CHA Educational ToursJul 17, 2019
We have read your message and are fully aware of the situation. Of course, the safety of our travelers is of the utmost importance to all of us at CHA. We have been in contact with the group leader since the group arrived safely in New York from Madrid earlier this afternoon. Unfortunately, Delta has canceled all flights to the group’s final destination due to expected dangerous weather conditions in and around New York airports due to Tropical Storm Barry. These flight arrangements are now under airport control, and no one else has access to the reservations. We have been in contact with Delta, and they are working hard to rebook the group on the next available flights. Unfortunately, in cases of cancellations due to weather, the airlines are not obligated to provide hotels or meals. There are several chaperones as well as other adults with the students, and we are awaiting further updates from the group leader. It is unfortunate that this has happened, however the situation is beyond anyone’s control. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-323-4466 if you would like to discuss this.
