Absolutely Disgraceful Experience — Students Deserve Better
If I could give zero stars, I would. As a college student, I am absolutely appalled by the level of incompetence, technical failures, and complete disregard for students’ time that I have experienced throughout this examination process. After dealing with issues over multiple days, I encountered yet another technical failure during my MO-210 Excel certification examination. The situation became so ridiculous that even my proctor acknowledged the technical issue and stated that he would personally vouch for what occurred. I spent an unreasonable amount of time troubleshooting problems that should NEVER have been my responsibility in the first place. Instead of being able to focus on demonstrating my knowledge, I was forced to navigate a malfunctioning examination environment while under immense time pressure. Students pay for these examinations, dedicate hours to preparing, and rearrange their academic schedules to accommodate them. To have that effort undermined by technical failures, only to be met with inadequate support, is completely unacceptable. What makes this experience particularly infuriating is the apparent lack of accountability. Why should students be expected to absorb the consequences of a company’s inability to provide a properly functioning testing environment? My time is not disposable, and neither is the work I have put into preparing for this certification. I expect more than a generic apology or another inconvenient rescheduling. I expect accountability, an appropriate resolution, and compensation for the time and effort wasted due to circumstances entirely outside my control. An organization responsible for administering professional certifications should be capable of meeting the very basic standard of providing a functional examination experience. I would strongly caution other students against assuming this process will be reliable or that adequate assistance will be available when something goes wrong. This has been one of the most unnecessarily stressful, frustrating, and poorly managed testing experiences I have encountered. Absolutely unacceptable.
