I’m actually very disappointed. I was previously diagnosed with blood clots at that clinic, then two weeks later they were said to be gone after taking the prescribed meds. Shortly after getting off of them, the pain and tightness that I had prior to my initial visit was back. Went back, got another ultrasound, where the tech never told me to hold my breathe. But they did previously. So that didn’t make any sense to me. The Dr came in and said, the clots are still gone. Then asked what was going on? I told her that I’m still having the swelling I did before after no longer taking the meds, along with the pain. She said, well that’s backwards. She didn’t even look at my leg. Then said, let me know if there’s anything I can do? You’re the Dr! You tell me? This isn’t a Dr that cares about her patients. It seems as if her tech was told to just do the scan just to say it was done. But it wasn’t done properly. Now I’m going to see another specialist. I will never go to that facility again.

Don't go to this place if you have a medical problem

I only wish I could give this business a 0!
This business used to be Atlanta Vein and Vascular Center, but is now Center for Vein Restoration (CVR).
I went to this place because I was having trouble with pain and swelling in my leg.
First thing at my appt I was given a sono of my leg veins before I saw a doctor. I thought that was odd, but I knew a sono would be needed. They were efficient. Got me measured for compression hose. Dr. Fonger came in and talked to me said I had a moderate case of reflux in both legs and that CVR could help me. He also said they treated spider veins/varicose veins as well, but that they were usu not covered by ins. I told them at this point I didn't care about that. I was given a plan for the surgeries and given appts in 4 weeks. It felt like forever.
My appt was May 9. I was contacted by Stephanie at CVR that day, who told me that my ins. co had declined all but one of my procedures (1/5), and it was a minor one. She rec. I go on in and get the one done, and they would work on getting approval for the others. She didn't know what was wrong. As she was looking at my papers she said, didn't you have any symptoms? I said absolutely! I had pain. She asked did you have swelling? I said sure. I also said all of those were identified on the forms I submitted to CVR. I then called my ins co and was told that my treatment application was missing information, and they emphasized it did not include the medical necessity, and that HAD to be included. When I went in to get my one procedure done I told CVR that information was missing in the submittal to ins and that medical necessity was not addressed. Everyone nodded and said they would get that taken care of. They also said they would be scheduling a peer to peer meeting (P/P) with the ins. I then had the one procedure done on the calf of my left leg.
Then started the waiting game. First it was we should have it all cleared up this week, then it was not sure how long it would take. Stephanie said they were waiting to hear back from my ins so that the P/P could be scheduled. I called every few days for an update, but basically nothing was changing. Then Stephanie would not take my calls or return them. I had wasted another couple of weeks waiting to get my leg problems fixed. I had no idea why no one was talking to me anymore, so I called my ins company. Boy am I glad I did. First they told me that they had submitted their available dates and times for the P/P with CVR just days aft and had not heard back from CVR. Since they had not heard back from CVR, they had closed the case. Imagine my shock at THAT one! I asked if I could appeal the case myself, and they sent me the forms. I knew I needed to find another doctor fast.
I called the Emory Vein Center and got in for June 2. Before I was able to see the new doctor I started having new problems with my left leg. The pain was excruciating with a hard knot-like area on the side of my knee. I was getting scared and almost took myself to the emergency room.
This office's approach was much different. I saw the doctor first. We talked and then he visually examined my legs, including where CVR had done the ablation and then I was sched for a sono. I told him I had had very bad pain on the side of my knee, but it had backed off the last couple of days. He said it may have been a superficial vein clot that had resolved.
The following week I had my sono done on both legs. When the technician worked on the left leg he found a large clot in my leg. I was given a script for a blood thinner and I was told to rigorously follow the directions. The next week I had a video call with the doctor who told me the clot was probably connected to the procedure CVR had done, since the clot had not been seen in CVR's sono, but was obviously there now. So, not only had CVR left me hanging about help for my legs, they gave me a parting gift with a blood clot. I am so glad I got going with another doctor quickly or I might have had a huge emergency on my hands. My doctor told me the clot ran from my groin to my ankle.
One last thing. When I initially met with my second doctor, I asked him what would make a doctor's office behave like CVR had. He said that lots are in the business of working on spider /varicose veins and have little interest in the work that requires ins. Probably the minute my ins gave them some problems they were no longer going to pursue it. If they had just told me that, I would have gone somewhere else, instead of waiting.
If I were you, I would not trust these people to look out for you. Everything they do is to get quick money, like doing the sono without first examining you, and ordering compress hose for you right up front. They may have done the little procedure on my leg because they didn't want to leave any sure money sitting on the table, too.

Usurious billing practices
CVR is a listed provider with my insurance. My insurance company paid the allowed amount. I paid co-pay and some additional amount owed for compression socks. I continued to get bills, for more than a year, despite calls to multiple numbers over several weeks to clear it up. CVR acknowledges on the phone that I did not owe, claimed the issue would be corrected within 30 days, and that didn't happen. CVR even acknowledged I overpaid them and claimed they would send a refund to me. Between May 2021 when the socks were orders, and mid-June 2022 (the next year), nothing has been corrected and I continud to get bills, text, & emails that are incorrect. While the care in office was ok, I will not return. I havelost too much time trying to correct the issue, that still remains pending as of this writing.

My legs are still swelling and hurting
My legs are still swelling and hurting. My right get is numb and hurting it feels like a bunch of needle I'd poking it since the doctor did the procedure. They said just give or time and it will go back to normal. They been saying this for at least 10 months now. My legs are worst than when I got the procedure.

From the time I arrived
From the time I arrived, the front office staff wanted to make it clear that I was putting a crimp in their day. For example, because I am on chemo right now, I needed to sit down to wait, but since I am a large woman I could not sit in the waiting room chairs which were also too low to the ground. I offered to wait in the car, leaving my med aide In the office to get me when needed. This was unacceptable to the front office. Then I was blamed for showing up too early to the appt.! From there, things went downhill, through the testing and chat w/ nurse and doc. Finally, after rushing through nurse and doc chats, I was told a company would come to my house for compression socks. This company never called. When I tried to follow up, the ONE number for your offices had no idea who I should call to figure out what was happening. They gave me A phone number, which was of course incorrect. I'm happy to say I have warned people on my social media cancer list to avoid your offices like the plague.
