My driving instructor Carlos was absolutely amazing-always on time, well organised and genuinely willing to go the extra mile to make sure you drive safely and legally. He got me through my test first try. Truly grateful and would recommend him to anyone learning to drive.

I knew that Carlos was a top-tier instructor when he told me what I didn't want to hear in our first conversation. I live in Cambridge but could only get a test booking in Bury St Edmunds, so I was hoping to do most prep near my home and then a couple of lessons near BSE to learn the area. Out of the 20+ driving schools that I contacted, Carlos was the only one who took the time to call me, learn more about what I needed, and explain why it would actually be best to do all of our prep in Bury. There's a strong chance I wouldn't have passed my test if not for that conversation. That personalisation of course extends to the actual driving instruction - it was very clear that Carlos is invested in figuring out how each student learns & being able to adapt his approach. This matters when an instructor has limited time to not just prepare students to pass the test, but hopefully teach them to be road-safe drivers for life (which we need more of!) Finally, the process of booking & confirming lessons, and overall communication, was very professional and consistent, which isn't a given among driving schools. I don't fault driving schools that aren't ace at managing learner schedules and communications, as it's a lot - but having Carlos be on top of this as well gave me extra confidence that I was in good hands. Just passed my test first time today with Costa's lessons... Great instructor and agreat guy - lots of good chat and lots of great tips for how to drive safe as well as get through your test (and life in general :-) ).
