Wish I had read the reviews before signing up with this company. They sign up you up to a recurring subscription (without you realising), charge your card again and then refuse to refund you when you contact them. I signed up to a one month membership (that was how it was positioned to me on the sign up page), but apparently it was a premium membership with a recurring monthly payment. I wouldn't recommend the site. Whilst I did find a nanny, I view that as a 'one-off miracle' because no-one else replied - it felt quite pointless sending messages out. Overall, I really dislike companies who con you into subscriptions without you realising and don't warn you that they are about to take another charge so you don't have the option to cancel beforehand. It just feels disingenuous.

Trying to navigate your app from my cellphone is the pits for me. After trials, I cannot find a way to contact any applicats.

I have been on Care.com since 2007 as a caregiver and it has been a great tool to connect with families from all over. Since I have the ability to travel, I’ve had clients in six states, with impeccable references. However, being FORCED to have to deal with this new app is having me search on other platforms for new clients. The app is absolutely HORRIBLE and has NO improvements to the website! The layout is odd and not user friendly. You are have to use it N/S, which is not convenient on an iPad, and I don’t need to see families I may be a good match for. It reminds me of a banner-type advertisement. It is annoying. You’d think by NOW the site or app would have a feature where you can mark off jobs you are passing on so you do not have to see them every time you’re on the site, which I am daily, if in-between clients. They have the dismiss feature on the aforementioned ‘Families you may be a match for’, so it is bewildering WHY they did not enable this feature on the general listings. Also, now you are supposedly to take your finger and draw on the map the area you’d like to work. Since I’m willing to go anywhere, it does not work. I’m still manually putting in zip codes, which is alright, but instead of doodling, WHY couldn’t it be a ‘no limit’ within the distance box, instead of a mere 50 miles? It makes NO SENSE since there is another box as to how you view listings, with ‘Nearest Distance’ as an option. All I have to say is I am so glad I did not renew my subscription that is supposed to give you extra benefits, such as seeing new potential clients ahead of the general listing! The prices have gone up so much and I do not see one difference with having it or not. It’s such a shame. I used to be proud of recommending this site to fellow caregivers and even some families, but now I won’t bother. What’s the benefit to do it any way? It’s not like they have a referral program, in which they could give you a free month or spotlight you for a month. It’s not hard to do right by people. You’ll have long-lasting relationships. I’ve had this with my clients and am still friends with some families after 2 decades and they are always willing and happy to give me a reference. It’s how business should be done. Especially with Care in the title!

I have found good caregiver's through Care.com, but their process is deeply flawed. Often, I had to hire someone other than my top choices because I never heard back from them after I asked for more information or offered them the job. It turns out that Care.com never notified them that I had sent them a message. This wasn't just a one off either. I would say that easily 1/3 of the applicants I messaged later complained to me about not having received my messages. The other major problem is sorting through applicants. I was very specific about what was needed, including exact dates, times, and number of hours. Yet I was innundated with applicants who didn't meet those requirements. Unfortunately, to find this out, I had to message each and every applicant to confirm whether or not they actually fit the job description. When I went back and read the job description, I found that the hours and dates had been altered by Care.com from what I originally entered. In other cases, it was obvious the applicants hadn't read the requirements and applied for a job they couldn't do. All this makes for a very time consuming process that should be much simpler and easier. I also found navigating the website awkward and slow. With all that said, I have found some really wonderful caregivers, true gems, via Care.com.

When I contacted Kelsey and outlined what I would need to do, she never wrote back. Unfortunately I’m still looking for a caregiver part time to help me with household chores.

I was never able to connect with the housekeeper. As a result, no one has come to the house to work.

Horrible customer support and ethics. I've had multiple terrible experiences with Care.com; their caregiver assignments are not transparent, and the customer services is rude and unhelpful.
