Not getting the # of applicants I have received in past AND now I am getting some applicants and I reply and I never hear from them again???
I am including my previous review below and just realized care.com responded to my review and I will definitely respond to them but I wanted to lower my rating because I have consistantly received applicants that sound so excited about the job listing I posted but when I replied and asked what their availability-I never heard back from them after today I have had it with care.com. I realize care.com isn't responsible for who applies to be one of their sitters/nannies but 3 out of 4 of the applicants that applied all excited and then I never heard from them again are Care Match - I have to wonder if they get incentives for that. One applicant who wasn't a care match had contacted me on 11/18 and said she was the one for the job and was practically gitty when I replied to her message and we had some trouble with making time for an interview because of the holidays and over 4 days later, I hadn't heard from her and she was supposed to come over the next day and she waited until 7pm the night before to say she can't do the interview or the job. I have been on and off this site for more than a few years so I am done. I emailed 4-5 caregivers to ask them to look at my job posting and only one responded after a week and said she wasn't available but then I noticed she was FEATURED that week? How can you get Featured if you are not taking jobs. And when I looked at one of the Care Match applicants that applied for my posting all of a sudden who 4 yr old was a 7 yr old. There has got to be a way for care.com to try to give reminders to have caregivers update their profiles. One caregiver who was also FEATURED in my town, I looked at her profile she had a 3 out of 5 stars because she refused a background check. I would have given her a 1 star--how can she be featured. I am done with care.com. I appreciate the response from care.com, I will definitely be contacting them. I have used care.com a few times and when I posted a job, I always got several applicants. This time even though the job description is pretty much the same, I have only received about 3 applicants that I think would fit the position and one has already found a job. I am not very happy with care.com right now. I actually found a great sitter last winter and she stayed until she found a 40hr/wk job in August. I don't know what has happened with care.com since I was looking last winter. I posted a job in two different sections like I did before only 2-3 wks ago and have only have 1-2 sitter applications? I have never experienced such a low response. Now I am going to have to hand pick sitters and email them which will take more of my time. If I had the extra money, I would just cancel this 3 month membership and go over to the other big sitter/nanny site.
