This website is flat out impossible to use way too often. Another major issue is that scam artists are somehow able to access your personal information such as your name and phone number and then proceed to text you trying to scam you in some way. This happened to me many time and also to a nanny that I hired from here NOT GOOD and probably unsafe. BEWARE!

I requested a background check for a nanny and the data was incomplete I was charged $60 for just her DL# which I received personally from the nanny when I asked for her DL. What I thought I was going to receive was a thorough report of her driving record. They couldn't even verify her address. For $60 I expected much more. I asked for a refund but their policy is strict no refunds they said my report was run and that's what I paid for. Awful. I could not locate a member services number without going through the web first and then received robotic script responses from their member services team overseas. They responded after I tweeted them but same scenario and script responses. Very awful experience. Care.com remember this its how you ended up making the person feel after the experience that will have a lasting impact.

I signed up for a one year "subscription". I did NOT renew, but it was renewed automatically. When I wrote to request my money back, I was IGNORED!!!!

Set up interviews with five or six people - three showed up - one turned around and left immediately! One of the remaining two looked promising - very professional and knowledgeable, until we heard her price! She wanted $25 per day to come in once a day and put down food for our two indoor cats and clean the litter box every other day! The last person to come was a 15 year old student who was knowledgeable and seemed to love cats. She had her mother drive her and asked for $10 per day. We laid out exactly what we needed and left her the house keys AND paid her in advance with a $5 tip since she was leaving for the Cape on the day we were returning. WE CAME HOME TO A DISASTER! She had left all the empty cans of cat food in my kitchen sink! She cleaned out the cat box and left the open plastic bag sitting on my stove!!! I GUESS HER MOTHER STILL CLEANS UP AFTER HER AT HOME!!!

I was very dissatisfied with my esperience on Care.com for the following reasons. 1. Their Background checks are a joke. I once hired someone on Care that had gone through a Background check. As it turned out this person was homeless, living out of her car. She was rude and abused my Blind and Deaf Senior Boxer. She also would "Snoop" throught my private things. 2. I once hired a woman on Care who said she "Loved Dogs" only to witness her yelling and being abusive to Rosie. She would not pet her or engage with her in anyway. Since my dog Rosie was blind and deaf, she yearned for physical contact due to her lack of sight and hearing to reassure her. She was 13 years old and all she wanted was a little affection. 3. The last person I hired said she loved dogs as well and told me of a sad story her husband asked her for a divorce. I was told by my assistant at the time that when I was out of town and she was here alone, she would flirt constantly with my husband and wore clothes competely inappropriate for her job here. She also asked my husband to call her by a different name. Luckily my husband is a very busy person and did not know what she was doing...or just didn't care... 4. I had a friend who was on the site dog sitting and she constantly got inappropriate clients calling her for things unrelated to pet sitting. She finally pulled herself off the site. Care.com is really the worse site I have seen. They do not screen the pet sitters or clients which could end up a very dangerous situation. I will never use them again.

Previously, I was a parent looking for caregivers. I recently decided I wanted to explore the option of becoming a caregiver myself. My account was set up to only allow me to view potential caregivers. I tried several times to discuss this issue with customer service. Not one person was able to help me change my account. In fact, no one ever even responded to my emails. They canceled my account and never contacted me. I was extremely disappointed with my experience. The website needs to be updated so customers can change their preferences. The customer service reps need to be trained on how to give customer service!

I was scamed several times on care.com. anyone can claim they are a pro or an experienced caregiver or cleaning person and scam you out of hundreds.

I'm sure it's technically legal, but it's SO frustrating to be a busy mom and have your account suddenly auto renew without any prior notification. Of course, they could send an email telling you that your account is about to expire so you could act and decide if you want to renew, but they don't. I am extremely busy with a young child and just can't keep track of all these little details. If I had been notified, I absolutely would have cancelled. Instead, I was charged an excess of $100 even though I haven't logged onto Care.com since hiring a sitter in August. I am really frustrated with this service.
