I have had several people respond to my job listing and then when I respond, I never hear back from them. I. one case, I exchanged several messages and spoke to the candidate on the phone. we were strangely disconnected and then she just ignores my calls back and my messages. I still have not heard anything back from her. it would of been courteous for her to tell me she decided the job was not right for her instead of just ignoring me. very unprofessional. I still have not found anyone tidily he position.

So sorry to hear about your experience, Elizabeth. I can understand how frustrating that can be, I suggest leaving a review on the caregiver's profile to share your experience with them to other potential care seekers. Sorry again this happened.

Terrible customer service
This is an email that I sent to a Care.com supervisor today (I eventually spoke to this supervisor, Immanuel, and he provided zero help):
Immanuel,
I tried calling you back approximately 5 minutes after you left me a voicemail. After being on hold for 10 minutes, I was told you were unavailable.
Thank you for telling me in your email that background checks typically take 3-10 business days. Unfortunately, I already knew that information, because it is written on your website, which I read thoroughly before going through the trouble of contacting your customer service reps and then trying to contact you. The first customer service agent with whom I spoke relayed this information to me as well. I told her, as I'm telling you, that I already know what is written on your website.
I asked to speak to a supervisor because I need to know more precisely when the background check will be complete. The stock answer of "3-10 days" may apply in general, but you now know exactly whose background I am checking, you know when I made the request, you know when she approved the request, and you have the ability to call the 3d party agency that runs the background check to say "what is your estimated time of completion?" Once you have the specific data above, it is easy to give a more precise answer.
So let me be very specific about my request: I want you to contact the agency that runs the background check and ask them to give you a more specific estimate of when Logan's background check will be complete. I have wasted a huge amount of time today just trying to get someone to answer this question.
On a related note, Care.com's telephone team's customer service is absolutely sub-par. It is awful. The phone number is difficult to find on the website. Once you find it and call, there is a huge wait time to speak to an agent. Once an agent gets on the phone, there is a substantial amount of background noise, making it difficult to hear the agent. The customer service reps seem to speak English only as a second language and thus, misuse common phrases, making communications unclear and inefficient. The words your reps use are imprecise when they are saying anything other than what is written on your website. The fact that a customer's call can't be transferred to a supervisor (upon request) is ridiculous. The fact that you called me and left me a voicemail but didn't leave me a call back number is ridiculous. When called back Care's general number and asked to speak with you, I was put on hold for 10 minutes before being told that you were unavailable. I told your customer service rep that I thought Care's "procedure" of not being able to call back a supervisor was a stupid procedure and that being able to return calls is a common business practice; your customer service rep then told me that she didn't appreciate my language. I asked her what word she found objectionable, and if it was the word "stupid" (because there was literally no other word I could imagine a person taking issue with), at which time she told me she was terminating my call. Your customer service has failed on every level today.

We are so sorry to hear your frustrations, Shani. I would feel the same way if that ever happened to me. I'll make sure to forward your feedback to the right department. Thanks for taking time to let us know about your experience so that we can hopefully learn from it and provide better customer service experience next time. Have a great day.

Auto renew not made clear at all!!
Subscription page offers 1 month, 3 month and 1 year options. Brilliant you think I'll sign up for 1 month. In small letters at the bottom of the page it tells you that this will auto renew. Probably not what you are reading when your dad has had a fall at at home and almost died before he was found and taken to hospital and you are now searching for a carer for them . Their very 1st faq points out that lots of people don't realise it's an auto subscription. So what do they do? Make it more prominent on the subscription page? No as they know they will get an extra month or 2 from lots of people so they leave it as very unclear. I've used childcare.co.uk and their website makes it very clear that it's a monthly subscription that you will pay until you cancel. Care.com are just charlatans.

This site is a total waste of time.
This site makes promises but does not live up to them. People never respond to applications. They claim better replies with a background check so that you spend more money with them. Even with a spotless background check, no one ever responds to your ads. I think maybe all these ads are false ads made up by Care.com so you think their are jobs out there. But there really aren't any legitimate ones so it appears.
Response from Care.comFeb 16, 2016
Hi Russell! Sorry you feel that way and we appreciate your feedback, it is ultimately the family's responsibility to respond to those who have applied to their job postings. We do encourage all members to be timely and courteous in their responses. I apologize if this has not been your experience. I suggest applying to everything that interests you and to send follow up messages if you haven't heard back. I thought this article may be helpful: http://tinyurl.com/m3uqjuo

only one interview
I posted my job and got many responses of interest. Unfortunately only one person responded to my request for an interview. I interviewed the one person but felt she did not have enough experience for this particular child.
Response from Care.comJan 21, 2016
Hi Judy! Sorry to hear you did not get replies from applicants, that can be really frustrating. I suggest re posting your job ad and see if you get new applicants. I would also try browsing the caregiver lists and reach out to the ones you think will be a good fit. I hope this helps and let us know if you have other questions or concern.

I cancelled my Care.com account but they continue to charge my credit card
I cancelled my account many years ago but my credit card continues to be charged. This is pure and utter fraudulent behavior on the Care.com company, and I'm truly disgusted. I need to have my card credited immediately or I will file a dispute with the better business bureau.

Hi Camille! We sent you a DM via Twitter, we'll be happy to look further into this for you as soon as we receive more information. Have a great day!
