I am a nanny I was register in care.com for four years. I am excellent nanny all my employers were happy With me and the way I take care the kids.I am disappointing with care.com because they terminated my account for no reason. I am so sad and frustrated because they said I can not register anymore and they don’t want to explain me the reason why they decided to close my account. please don’t trust in care.com they don’t give good treat to the nannies and babysitters, they don’t value their customers even if you are good client or you work for them many years :(

My teenage daughter tried to become a member to find pet sitting jobs. When I tried to approve her account via email, I kept getting a dead end message. Naturally, there is no customer service phone number (because that would imply that they HAVE customer service) so when I tried to do their stupid "chat w/a tech" option, it (obviously) auto generated generic questions before saying it would transfer me to a tech person, then sent me straight to the "give us your credit card before we answer your question" option. I'm a little too old to fall for that scam, thanks. The glowing reviews they have on their site? Safe bet that they're all fake.

I have to admit I did find a couple of good housekeepers through Care.com. My issues are with the online payment options. I used their pay option for paying my first housekeeper, and it worked well for several months until it was hacked somehow and a woman I had never heard of received a payment from my bank account. I contacted Care.com and eventually the funds were refunded, but from that moment on, this woman has appeared in my feed as someone I had hired. Again, I have never heard of this woman and she never worked for me. Since then, they have gotten slower and slower about actually sending the payment on to the caregiver. The latest lag in payment is up to seven days. It's supposed to be pretty much instantaneous. Then there's the background checks. When looking for a new housekeeper this past month, I signed up for the extra payment for this service. Only, when they sent questions to verify my identity, they wanted me to verify specific street addresses that I haven't lived in for decades, as well as the month and year of the purchase for a vehicle I scrapped ten years ago. No other options were offered and I couldn't proceed beyond this point. I could go through the back and forth of trying to sort it out, or I can jettison the entire service. I chose the latter. Care.com is a great idea. The implementation of that idea is terrible.

To give a 1 star review implies what you are reviewing is 'bad', care.com is beyond 'bad'. It does not deserve even 1 star. I have used many job finding sites, predominantly for nanny work and care.com is the worst. It is a waste of money. Both parents and carers need to buy a membership (that renews automatically) to be able to send and receive messages. However, you don't get told this. I wasted over a month applying to parents without myself paying before realising they can not contact me. Even with a membership there seems to be something wrong with sending and receiving messages. I purchased a membership to contact parents and out of 32 successfully sent messages I got 1 reply! My profile was viewed by 1 parent. In over 3 months! I contacted care.com to ask why, after paying a membership can I not make successful contact and they simply stated "care.com cannot guarantee the search will be successful". If only people would stop using care.com and focus on the other, much better sites we could finally put an end to this 'waste of time and money organisation' who doesn't give a sh"t.

I registered with care.com looking for help for my elderly mother. In order to read the mail from the first respondent I was asked to pay £30. Pity there isn't a zero number of stars.

Cheeky website - they keep your card on their files and charge you automatically every month even when you stop using their site. I didnt find anyone useful either - they dont check candidates properly. I would recommend others NOT to use this site.

Similar to Craigslist. Families looking for free caregivers. Most customers on the site want a lot for nothing. There is no free caregiver and the care.com isn’t the place for highly qualified caregivers. Forget about this site.

I tried finding a tutor on care.com. Care.com suspended my account because they did not run a real background check on me. They tagged me and someone with my date of birth and name in New Jersey that has domestic violence cases against them. In the mean time I went to my state police HQ got my finger prints done and a FBI background check proving this information from NJ is not me. It is taking care.com too long to fix this.
