To any one who's thinking about using the site, don't because I was with them for years and all of a sudden they closed my account for no reason with no explanation! I depended on them for a job and now I can't get a job! Do not use the site they are very unprofessional! It's a shame how they just close your account for no reason!

At first, the website was fine. I was able to contact those looking for care, and they could respond with no problems. Without being informed of the changes, I went to apply for 20+ jobs today and waited weeks for responses. When I found It strange that no one was messaging me back, I found out that I have to be a member that PAYS in order to actually be in contact with the families. Meaning, they saw my application but can't respond to me because I don't pay for a plan. -- Absolutely horrible. I will never use this website again unless something changes.

There are a lot of people on care.com offering their services to families who do NOT take these commitments seriously. We have hired 4 people from care.com to help with our childcare, and only one of them actually lived up to her commitment. For a family of 4 with parents who cannot just miss work because the caregiver doesn’t feel like watching tho kids, this is completely unacceptable. It seems to me this website is for people who cannot hold a stable job and are looking for some extra cash but will just quit whenever.

Sucks, they offer a basic account which is supposed to be the free account. You can't even do anything!! It wouldn't allow me to even apply for local jobs. Im not paying several hundred dollars a year for this website. My small business isn't established enough yet to make purchases like that. Don't waste your time.

I am an owner of a Preschool in Portland Oregon. We needed temprary help and placed a nanny posting at Care.com for $39.95 for one month. One of their employees called and asked me to try their business listing which is $100 per month and was told my exposure would be better and if I am not satisfied, I could switch back. I said I will try for a few days. After one day, no one applied, I called to cancel. They would not reply back to my messages, will not return the calls. I called my credit card and put a stop on the charge. Care.com contested and said that I have signed up for three months. What a scam. Even after a month, I did not even receive single applicant. This company stole 900$ from us without our knowledge. While doing our taxes we realized that a company had taken 39$ from our account monthly for the past 2 years. We called our bank and tried to trace the company who was scamming us, however the bank was unable to come up with an answer as the account was only named "careau" with no other information related to it. Our bank finally suggested that it must have been Care.org.au. We consequently lodged a complaint against them and they quickly told us that we were not the first to complain about this "careau" shady transaction and that the business culpable was actually Care.com. We made a quick search and realized Care.com was the babysitting website we had BRIEFLY come across TWO YEARS prior searching for a babysitter to look after our son for ONE DATE NIGHT and which ultimately turned into a 900$ SCAM over a period of two years. A couple of key points need to be made very clear: - The website was promoting a fee for ONE MONTH, we absolutely never signed up for a monthly subscription since we were only looking for a one-time occasion babysitter. - NO receipt or reminder e-mails were EVER sent to notify the ongoing transactions (which is to be expected from any respectable company) - The name and account number of the company taking our money was untraceable by the bank which resulted in months of search trying to find who was taking our money while Care.com was still silently stealing from our account every month. I strongly suggest you find another alternative to these robbers. We always think we won't be the one to be scammed until it finally happens...900$ gone from our account in exchange for no services. We are students with a child, all we wanted was a date night.

Don't waste your money. I am already committed for 3 months. Post your job in the local churches. This is a total waste of time. You have to buy a premium membership that would allow you to contact possible employees. Once done, they can close your job after 3 weeks. They make it incredible hard for you to contact anyone to interview, unless you buy their background service. My friend told me she could interview anyone after she bought their background service. If you have a complaint they block your emails. Tarrie

I was a premium member for a year and despite applying to many jobs, never got a single response. Then they charged me twice as much for the renewal I didn't want and it's impossible to get ahold of this company. Do not use! They will rip you off. And as a bonus, they now require a background check, which means they need your SSN as well as all your other personal information. Send dangerous to me from such a shady company.
