Because I had used this platform 3 years ago, I expected to sign up, pay my fee, post a job and chat with workers. That did not happen. I paid my fee and posted a job. However I could Never respond to any person. Each time I logged in I was told I had to give them my Driver's L.#. I don't know why bc I had used this platform before and I have not changed or moved. I never could find any Help in their FAQ or any way to get a real human to explain. I wasted a Lot of time trying, and only ended up frustrated and poorer than I was before. I never found a caregiver even though I paid my fee for 3 months straight. No one ever asks you if you are satisfied with their service. I am Not! I also DO Not Trust this company with sensitive information like Drivers L.#. They have tricked me, and should be admonished! Care,com is not being forthright in explaining they want my D.L. as Care Seeker, before I ever gave them my money. I would never sign up if they were honest. I can find Help locally on social media and due my own research on a person for less money than Care,com charges me. And, of course, their policy is No Refunds.

Is zero an option? This company is run by criminals in 2024 the Federal Trade Commission sued them and won an $8.5 million settlement for consumers because they engaged in deceptive practices which made it near impossible to get a refund. They were also auto renewing subscriptions without consent. Well, they’re still doing it. My elderly mother has dementia so she therefore cannot understand what she’s agreeing to and they have stolen almost $150 from her and refuse to give it back. This is disgusting. They are praying on the elderly and they are unapologetic about it. I am currently in the process of suing them after they refused to cooperate with my Better Business Bureau complaint. Skumbags! Stay far away from them.

They are malicious in their billing We thought we were signing up for 3mo of access, and they billed us EVERY 3mo. They did not make that clear when we were signing up. This is deliberately bad design. I would not recommend this company.

Title: Care.com penalizes vulnerable families while protecting negligent caregivers I am sharing our experience to warn other families caring for elderly parents with dementia. Care.com took severe adverse action against our family based entirely on an unverified, retaliatory statement from a caregiver—completely bypassing any investigation into the actual facts. A caregiver hired through the platform abandoned my father, a dementia patient, in the middle of her shift, leaving him entirely unattended. When I informed her that I would be leaving a review reflecting this safety violation, she immediately submitted a false counter-report to Care.com citing "safety concerns" to protect herself. Rather than requesting proof or investigating the timeline, Care.com immediately sent automated warning letters to all of our other active caregivers. This unvetted action has severely damaged our reputation and caused us to lose critical care providers. By punishing families without verification, Care.com is actively protecting negligent workers who pose a genuine danger to vulnerable adults, while stripping families of the support they desperately need. Proceed with extreme caution.

I signed up thinking I was signing up for one month…then I tried to cancel it immediately when the webysaid I would be billed monthly. There is no customer service phone number. Even with canceling it, they will be charging close to $12 dollars month for six months and then bill the full amount thereafter. They are sneaky and dishonest and there is no way to address the problem, that’s how they get you.

I would NOT use care.com. They allow caregivers on there that are willing to abandon elderly patients and show up possibly on drugs. They do not support those who actually need the care. They are a scam and have 0 customer service help. Use at your own discretion. There are other service providers who actually care about people instead of taking your money and scamming you.

Having to pay a monthly membership to speak with a provider is a terrible policy.

I’m a senior companion. Most listings for work opportunities are not valid… just people inquiring, but not serious. The work opportunities were very few and far between. Recently Care.com charged my bank account, without notice, for a yearly background check. I had no idea. I demanded my money back but they said no. What kind of business practice is this? It’s a bad one. It’s not so much a money issue, it’s the principle. I have closed my account and gladly give them one star to warn others of their unfair business practices.
