It’s crazy how sad their customer service and care for people who are looking for jobs. I’ve been using them for almost a year! I contacted them because I had concerns about a parent who was harassing me. A few hours later their saying we’ll look into it, but then terminated my account. I was being harassed and threatened but my account was terminated? I had nothing but great reviews but when I reached out for help they shut me down. Care.com was my source of income. How am I suppose to get money? That was ignorant, bias, and inconsiderate. Do not sign up for them!

So this company decided it was okay to charge me $20.20 when I NEVER upgraded with them. And when I told them about it they wanted to lie and say I wasn't charged EVEN WHEN I SENT THEM A DAMN SCREENSHOT!!!!! Never ever will use this again and will be deleting my account and will tell people to NEVER EVER use this site.

I signed up to be a Carer about a week ago and have been trying to reach out and applied for many jobs. I have 0 messages and a suspicion that nobody is actually getting my applications to help care for their seniors. This makes me sad and disappointed. I had a genuine desire to care for the elderly and I feel that due to this app I am not being allowed since the setup is such that I did not pay for being higher in search results or something. Well, I am not going to be able to pay for that as I am on a fixed budget and was only asking $9/hr for my services. I also noticed that some jobs have dozens of responses but are still listed as ‘open’ and wonder if they are able to choose someone even? I think I will just post on a free forum that I’m available for senior care and delete my account. It appears there is no real work to be found here.

This is an expensive sham. You can create an account and post your job for free, but when someone replies you have to pay in order to just message the applicant. $29 for one-month subscription, $57 for 3 month, and $108 for 1 year. So, I have to pay with NO idea as to whether I am actually going to find a good candidate. Sorry, no go for me.

Care.com manipulates reviews by preventing negative posts that otherwise meet their Terms of Service. This is why you won't find any one star reviews of providers-they prevent them. I did an inventory, and found only 4 & 5 star reviews. What, with >9million uses to date no one has ever had a neutral or negative experience? Really? Reviews are one of the most important aspects of a hiring consideration, and yeah they get faked on Amazon, Ebay, Yelp-et etc....but at least every review is not a 4-5 Star Polyanna Piece. So here is the business model: desperate overworked parent with no time tries to find a care provider....reviews are used for fast evaluation.....and the reviews are only conducive to making the hire.....never any bad reviews to dissuade. That is fraud. And that is not at all in line with their marketed message of "Care". Here is the kicker from their Terms of Service: "By using the Site and/or Services, you agree that Care.com may assess, and you will be obligated to pay, $10,000 per each day that you: (i) maintain Care Provider or Care Seeker information (including but not limited to, names, addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses)" Say what?! They should rename the site: WeDon'tCare.com ps: tip, if you sign up for a premium (paid) account, cancel it same month-and they will change the $39./mo to $5. on the spot for 6 mo. If you are going to use the lousy site, it should at least not be pricey! :)

We had their service for 2 months. Sent out multiple jobs for babysitting but no one was interested. offered $25/hr for a babysitter but the best response was "I just got a puppy for Christmas so I don't have time anymore". Asked for our yearly membership to be canceled. They took back half of the amount for 1 month. Boooooo!

I opened an account Fall of 2017. I had a few scams that messaged me but I blocked them. After I was on the site for a few weeks, I did find a family that I worked for 8 months. During the time I was working I put my account on Pause. I had to leave this family unfortunately because on Feb 14 2018 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Even after I found out the news I continued to still work for the next two months. I was told its not looking to good in the future from 6 doctors. So I had to get my affairs in order. I closed my account down. Had surgery May 17 2018. Miraculously, I survived and went through a 8 months recovery. Dec 14 2018 Doctor said, I could go back to work in a month. So I opened an account again. I submitted my profile to 3 families and one messaged me right back. We met up and I had the job starting in 6 weeks.So I put my account on Pause. After a wonderful year with this family and cancer free. They gave me notice that they were moving out off the country. Again I took my account off pause and started to look. This site had many scams. I submitted many apps to families and nothing but only people that needed to be shut down. Even people that tried to get me to show up at their homes at night. Public place first! So I called into the Safety team about these issues and they CLOSED my account DOWN. I had all my reviews and was in touch with a few families. 34 years in the business and nothing has ever happen to me like this. ALL GONE!!! FOR WHAT? They said, I had closed my account down .I said, I did because I had cancer and I didn't want account open or paused. To my surprise.... I did not know you could not close down an account and open one later. Kinda weird I lasted 5 weeks after I opened an account had background etc ran and just all of sudden.... just CLOSED and was told I will never be able to come back! This is insane. They made me feel like a criminal. So be very careful with this site!!!! I just went through a lot of these reviews...words speak volume about Care.com. Not so caring!!! Unbelievable how you have treated people. You deserve to be shut down. But not enough wishing will make that happen. BEWARE!!!
