Purchased 3 month service for a friend, ended up having recurring charges each 3 months that must have been in the fine print, and despite her not using the service once, it ended up costing me over $600 for a year of "access" to sitters, not of course including what she would have had to pay them as well. Total rip off, and they won't refund for the unasked for prepaid subscription even when I called a day after the charge going through. Should be illegal.

Please be aware that like every website, there are predators on here. I had an interview for a position as a caregiver for a disabled adult. Once I got to his home I realized he had guns out in the open. Then he asked me to do tasks for him that we had not discussed and after being there a short time he asked for a sexual favor. He was not looking for a caregiver. He was looking for a sex worker. I refused the sexual act he wanted but he got off anyway. It was a terrible and frightening experience that I don’t want anyone else to go through. There are background checks for caregivers but what about background checks for the employer? I think this would be very helpful as often times caregivers are young women and we go to someone else’s home to work. Safety needs to be a priority for caregivers too! Do better care.com

I made an account trying to find a house keeper. I Posted a job listing which a few people responded too but I couldn't answer them without upgrading which cost $41. Up to this point there was no issue with my account I paid the money then tried to respond to the listing asking when they would be available then get logged out and told my account is closed but they refuse to tell me why and won't give me my money back they say they don't do refunds since you agreed to pay up front for a subscription for a set period of time even though they didn't give me that service for the 30 days I paid for, I didn't even get to use it for 5 minutes. They straight up ripped me off I paid then they refused to provide what I paid for and kept the money it's theft they are a scam and ripp off company do not use.

Amanda did not show up to clean. She said she had another client scheduled but hadn't heard back from him so if he did want his house cleaned she would send her partner and come here. If you look at her messages in the care.com app you'll see that. Now she is saying she never told me that. She is also sending me hateful messages to me. I'm very upset.

This platform has been nothing but a headache. It’s very user unfriendly. There’s no way to contact customer support anymore. I just realized they’ve been charging me $12 a month for months and now that I’m trying to delete my account it’s a runaround again. I’ve changed my password and now they keep saying my password is incorrect and I’m not able to even delete the account with ease. I’m about to have to spend a bunch of more time trying to navigate this or go to my bank and stop the payments. This is very unfortunate as it could be an excellent service. .
