I have been a cleared provider with Care.com for many years with minimal feedback on the many applications I responded to. My account lay dormant for a couple of years as I was engaged in a childcare job for a private school and really didn't need the services of this somewhat shady on-line childcare services. When I recently updated my profile, I was suddenly diluged with all kinds of newly enacted "fees" to maintain my "basic" account. I could upgrade to "Premier" status and forego the recently created yearly "CareCheck" fee of $14.99! This site excessively charges both the provider and families these fees on a fast and furious basis. I'm convinced this latest concocted fee is for the purpose of helping Care.com defray the substantial costs of their recent TV advertising campaign. After reading all the unsatisfactory reviews of this company, I decided to terminate my association. I do not wish to be associated with this fee-gouging company! May I suggest you do business with Sittercity.com. Have been with them for many years and they do not engage in unethical practices of this kind. If you are a provider with Care.com, call 1 877 227-3115 to close out your account. Care.com blocks your account and will not allow you to get into your account to cancel until you pay and agree to the yearly $14.99 fee! Total scam!

One of the worst search website for caregivers. Not only you need to pay money to be able to text people but also majority of profiles on this website haven’t been updated in so long, people are disrespectful and rude there. Don’t waste your money or time.

This company is just scamming people and should be shut down. Customer service is non-existent they have a phone number that nobody answers. It's just an answer phone that takes your detail and they never get back to you. Emailing them is also pointless. Well, I have summited 5 messages to cancel my account but no response. This has been the biggest waste of money and time. They are just scamming vulnerable people. I am on a very tight budget to find my 10-year-old son that has complex medical problems a carers and Care.com has failed to even provide one person for an interview. I have placed the exact ad on two other sites and have had very good results and only cost £5 and the other was free.

This Company ignores consumer rights. I have asked several times to unsubscribe to their emails. They ignore.

I would not give one star to care.com I was a caregiver to a client who had a LPN in charge she was verbally abusive to me on many occasions within 2 weeks . I found out while there that short time that she ran off the previous worker I picked up my last check and quit I do not deserve to have verbal abuse and anger directed at me for no reason she proceeded to make false claims to care. com and care.com cancelled my account without contacting me or telling me what was said I had proof of her irrational, angry abuse thru texts I was not given any opportunity to talk to care . com about her allegations etc . Very unjust and unfair to not be given the opportunity to share the texts with care . com and to actually make a complaint against her I will never go thru care.com because they took her word and blocked my account I did nothing wrong other than stand up to this person and to not allow myself to be abused.

This company is no good! I should have read here first too as other reviewers have said. Be careful! I also signed up for a three-month membership and forgot about it, Two years later they send me an email: " Your membership is ready to renew." Whaaat???? I had never gotten that before or of course I would have stopped it. My boys are 10 now and can babysit themselves. I look back on the site and they have been billing me for 2 years!! Thousand dollars or more, Horrible. I filed a Consumer Protection Complaint and will file with Better Business. But I'm sure that money is gone.

I wish I had seen the reviews before I signed up-If I could give zero stars I would. I signed up to be a dog walker, paid for 3 months of premium membership. I responded to dozens of ads, which all had the same proforma style, everyone having virtually the same requirements. The process was so dubious I even emailed Care.com to check it was a legitimate service. I received a generic response that did not answer my question. Having had no luck with securing any jobs I decided to cancel my subscription. I did this through my profile and thought it was all finished, only to find I was charged for another 3 month subscription. After I enquires relentlessly about this and the fact that I had cancelled they responded by saying I hadn’t downgraded by the renewal date so they couldn’t refund me. Again, they refused to answer any specific questions I posed around the cancellation process outlined in their T&Cs and the fact that I had followed it, and eventually just stopped responding to my emails. The downgraded my account and I received an email on the 26/7/20 to confirm I was on the basic plan. Today I was somehow charged again for a 3 month subscription. I wish I had read the reviews before signing up with this awful organisation- so many talk about this very issue. I’ve sent an email about this latest charge, let’s see how they respond. EDIT- I disputed the charges through my bank and was successful- I have been given a refund. I still wouldn’t recommend Care
