I tried signing up and it wouldn’t work. I was told I wouldn’t be charged but they charged me anyway. When I tried to call about it they wouldn’t pick up and don’t offer over the phone help you have to do it by email or look for your question in FAQ’s. Horrible service for people trying to find work.

I paid for membership and found a sitter. I paid for a trial sitting/interview and for background check on the sitter only to have the sitter bail-out before her job actually starts. And when I tried to repost the job, I was notified that my membership was cancelled by care.com without any reason.

I usually spot these scams before I commit my money, but I spent the money to see the message from someone responding to my request for help, only to read a reiteration of the person's profile. And nothing since. ProTip: when you cancel, take a screenshot of your message, then e-mail it to yourself. Otherwise you have no proof you cancelled.

Care.com is not useful at all. Nobody contacted you after you listed your request cuz they have to pay for contacting you. Ridiculously awful website cuz they will keep charging your card on file. You better use a prepaid card for this purpose. Fortunately, I used this type of card. Now, they keep sending me email to remind me for updating card information (hahaha) cuz they couldn’t charge me. I posted identical job by using the thumbtack and I at least got some feedback although I didn’t find a teacher for my kids. Anyway, don’t pay for this website as you can get a better service than care.com from other free apps, such as thumbtack.

This company has been charging me for years !!! They recently sent me an email asking me to renew ??? Renew what?? I had to check the account and they have been charging me $39 since 2017!!! They said they will only refund me this month since I haven’t used their services!! I haven’t used their services in years !!!

Care.com does not require normal vaccines as a condition for their clients or care givers. Very dangerous. Right now especially.

I created a profile again after COVID hit to find a family to care for since I could not find a teaching position for the new school year. I have an undergraduate degree and certification to teach. A random mom messages me to ask my rate and I told her. She then proceed to write terrible things about how much I was charging saying that I was scamming families. If she read my profile she would have known my rate. $30 per hour. I was looking for a part time job. I immediately reported her messages to care.com and let the mom know I reported her. She gave me a one star review on my page. No explanation just one star. (Anyone can give you a review on your profile page even if you’ve never communicated with them.) Two days later after reporting her, care.com terminated my account. When I called them care.com said they could not tell me why I was terminated. They did say I could never use the site again. Ever. Care.com does not have a legitimate customer service department. They terminate because it’s easy. Even the woman on the phone said they don’t actually have a “safety department” to handle abuse or harassment claims. Please be extremely wary of care.com!

Used to just love this website. Not all parents care if you have a background check. I do understand "why" but some of us just don't have the money, esp. due to losing our jobs due to COVID. If it was a one time fee I would consider it for sure.
