Even if you get a subscription so you can message providers, if they don’t res ch out to you first, you have to pay for their service before speaking to them. Trying to find a nanny and we can even talk to them and interview them without paying for them. Then you have to get a refund if you don’t move forward! Ridiculous.

I did not ask for or book a sitter. I signed up for housekeeping. The Cacom site is very difficult to use. Just the fact that I was sent an email from care asking me to review a sitter that I didn't even ask for is proof that their site is confusing. I would like to encourage care to do an update to their site. I think that they could get more business.

I paid for a subscription thinking that would allow me to see "applicants" messages which it didn't. I then had to go through verifying my ID which was a problem because I live in a different State than were care is needed for my mother so I called, and Care's "No" Customer Service Person told me I couldn't put my sister's info who lives close to where my mother needs care and me pay for the service. So, I cancelled to find out they won't give a refund. $40 for 5 minutes of "No" service is scam. I'll dispute the charge through my bank. Just be aware there web-site and service is not family friendly in any way.

Stay away. My experience with Care.com raised serious concerns. From a user’s perspective, this platform feels like a subscription trap. The website makes it extremely difficult to cancel a membership, with no clear cancellation button and endless redirects to help pages and contact forms. While navigating the site trying to cancel, I was charged unexpectedly. Customer service refused a refund without investigating, simply repeating that charges are non-refundable. After I escalated the issue politely and referenced Canadian consumer protection rights, my account was disabled without any notice or explanation. That alone destroyed any remaining trust. I also have serious concerns about caregiver onboarding. In my personal experience, a caregiver I was contacted with just arrived in Canada less than one month earlier and told me she was able to register with only an email address. Based on this, I cannot trust that profiles are properly verified. Overall: Billing is unclear Cancellation is intentionally difficult Customer service is dismissive Account actions feel retaliatory Trust and transparency are lacking If this happened to me, it can happen to others.

UPDATE: You CAN get a refund from care.com if you are persistent enough. Here's what I did, and what will hopefully work for those of you who are also struggling with this company's abysmal customer service and likely illegal use of dark pattern UI: --File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. --File a fraud grievance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). --File complaints with your local state attorney general, as well as the Texas state AG. I posted a mention to care.com on their facebook page, which included a link to the FTC case against them. I also sent my grievance email to the following addresses @care.com: reviewteam careers press careteam privacy affiliates copyright PeopleOperations mobilehelp membercare Within 24 hours they changed their tune from "We don't offer refunds" to "we are so sorry, here's a partial refund." They know exactly what they are doing. The company is hiding behind a predatory refund policy because they know that attrition will get most people to surrender their money for these subscriptions. If the app was as unusable for you as it was for me, you deserve a refund, at least a partial one. Good luck to y'all. The app did not work and the company was impossible to talk to. They were rude on the phone and did not provide any support. This is a scam and I cannot tell you in clearer terms to avoid this company. Update: I have contacted the FTC and the better business bureau and filed complaints, and spoken to a lawyer. I encourage EVERYONE who has an issue to file with the FTC and the BBB. Care.com has a history of fraudulent behavior and has already been hit with regulatory fines for predatory practices. Our collective action can ensure this doesn't happen to other people. Search for care.com and FTC to see what I am talking about.

They have the WORST customer service! I have been emailing them for weeks and they just ignore my messages. I asked to escalate to upper management and nothing. Wish I would had seen their reviews before, the quality of people in there is not good, they don’t reply. They kept on charging me even when I wasn’t using it. Which they have proof I didn’t use. Customer service should be the pillar of any business specially an online platform. Would NOT recommend to use!!!

I paid for Care.com on November 10th, and it is now December 15th, yet I have never been able to use the app due to in-app bugs. I reached out many times via email and chat. While support staff were polite, their responses felt insincere, and I was repeatedly told to wait for updates and responses that never solved the problem. I requested a refund, as the app was completely unusable despite all the troubleshooting and updates I could do on my end. After 46 days of waiting and contacting support numerous times respectfully, I was finally told that they cannot issue a refund. This is extremely frustrating because there is nothing in their policy stating that if the app doesn’t work, I forfeit my payment. I paid for a service I was completely unable to use, and Care.com’s refusal to refund my money feels unfair and unreasonable. In short, I was effectively robbed of my payment for a platform I could never access. I am not upset about the app bugs themselves, but I am very disappointed as a paying customer that my situation was ignored. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Care.com. You are likely better off using social media or doing your own background checks to find connections than relying on a platform that may not work and could take your money without providing service. I used to advocate and tell all my friends and family about care.com but after what I went through I will direct people away from it
