I wish I had checked these reviews before I wasted a lot of time setting up a profile and wording a message to potential service providers. Unfortunately, only after I received applications did I realize that care.com REQUIRED a paid subscription to respond to messages. If they had been up front about it, I could have made an informed decision , but instead I feel scammed and disappointed. I was able to close out the account easily, but I will NOT recommend this site to anyone.

I just requested a refund of $45 I was charged on 1 June 2021 as I did not want auto-renewal. Also charged $45 on 1 May and $45 on 1 April while not using the service. Service is not worth it! Some profiles seem fake as cannot been found after a few days

If I could give a zero I would. Do not sign up or give your money to this company. They have zero credibility. I’m still trying to cancel and the link is not available as described. Automated responses are their specialty. This company should be investigated and blacklisted. Period!

Try to talk to their phone reps. You better be able to speak multiple foreign languages, because nobody there speaks English as a first or even second language. My company pays so we can use this United Nations company for care. I needed a nursing service to take me for a colonoscopy. They didn't know what that was. I said, they shove a hosepipe up your rear end with a camera and take pictures. They didn't understand that the nurse has to stay for the whole procedure. They didn't get the address of the facility where the procedure will take place. They are difficult to work with since they are in remote reaches of some unintelligible country.

The customer service is terrible and I requested for only one month subscription and they charged me for the second month and they said the subscription charges are non-refundable!

I’m officially done with trying to find sitters on care.com. People apply for your jobs & when you message them many don’t respond. I’ve been stood up on scheduled phone & in-person interviews. I’ve had a sitter I thought was good & found out she treated my son poorly when she babysat for him & watched inappropriate shows on babysitting duty. This same sitter blew me off a few times when I’ve tried to contact her for babysitting jobs. Then when she agreed to watch my kids she told me her hourly rate increased by $10 more an hour. When I tried to negotiate with her she got upset with me & told me to find a teenager in my budget. She called me ‘psycho’ after I told her she should update her profile on care.com because it currently stated she charges $15 per hour. That’s what I paid her last time she babysat. She told me she would charge me $25 an hour because she works ‘overtime’ on weekends. Clearly I was upset after she called me psycho so I told her I was going to give her a negative review. Then she continued with the name calling & called me ‘mental’ and a ‘tacky cheapskate.’ The majority of my interactions with these so called ‘sitters’ on this site have been very negative. Many act very unprofessional & aren’t reliable. I won’t be using this site again for future care providers. Don’t waste your time & energy trying to find sitters here. Talk with your friends & neighbors to get references & consider joining a FB group that will connect you with local sitters in your area.

I’ve worked as a nanny for a long time and I will say that I have found 3 great families through Care.com. That being said, those jobs were found 5-10 years ago. Back then membership was actually free, and navigating the website was much easier; not at all misleading. Now??? I don’t know who is running the company, but I’ve been back on the site a few times to look for a nanny position as well as a pet sitting position. I was unsuccessful because they won’t even let you finish registration or browse jobs unless you pay for a background check. #1, why should I have to pay for a background check that YOU are running?? #2, If you have to give a company your credit card information before you can do anything on their website, that’s a huge red flag. I tried to backtrack and find a way to cancel my account and the only thing that would come up is that payment page for the background check. Care.com never used to be money hungry scam artists, but I guess they’re under new management now. Well, I most definitely will not be returning to this website. Would I recommend them? Absolutely NOT!! I hope this review will spare someone the wasted time and money.

This is a scam! Trying to say they are authorized to speak on behalf of skilled nursing facilities and senior housing. It is not legit. Google the facilities you want to check out and call the direct line to that facility. Do not take information from these people.
