I found a nanny 6 years ago easily with a background check. We decided to look again, however after signing up and writing the job description an hour later, realized the minimal hours we were offering were not enough. Contacted the company for refund of background check option I chose, was okay keeping the subscription for 3 months even though we weren't going to use it. Unfortunately there is no contact number to speak with an actual person. There is only a generic email that gets sent out that doesn't actually answer a specific question but just reinterates there are no refunds, no matter the situation. Will never use again and would use a different forum to find care.

The supposed one month premium subscription is actually continuous- find out in the small print- So why call it a one months subscription? - very misleading. I feel the people on there system are outdated and probably not linked to the site anymore as you get a very poor response - I sent a message to 86 and only 3 replied. Worst of all-They do not reply when you e mail them.

I was a premium member. I spent forever trying to get a sitter while I was pregnant. They don't have up-to-date people. Half of them are no longer doing the service. I tried to downgrade my service. There is a bug on the mobile device. So I had to do it from the desktop. They charged me 138.00 twice until I was able to get the services downgraded. So I am again paying for services not getting. I called them and they don't answer the phone. So I left messages and well they went unanswered. I guess as long as they have their money it's all good. It really stinks though good concept. Just really bad practices.

The app is no more helpful than a newspaper ad and charges you a NON REFUNDABLE $150 for an annual subscription when you choose the monthly subscription. Their customer service refuses to refund you. Caregivers don't respond to messages, it is a completely useless service for me and my small town. It is unbelievable that they won't refund my membership that I had for 2 days.

This company runs their site like the KGB Secret Police. I used them for years (I've been a Nanny for 15 years and for about 10 of those have utilized care.com). They were constantly harraging me to join their "Premier" service, but I couldn't see the point. It doesn't offer the provider any advantage. One day, after an altercation via text with a client, care.com cut me off from their service. The client and her child were a bit of a nightmare and I didn't mind losing the business (I cared for the little girl 12 Monday nights in a row because both parents had class the same night). But after many children and many years, I had some very nice reviews. Here's the sick part - you call care.com up to say "What is going on here? Do I get to defend myself here? What about all the POSITIVE out there about me?" The answer: we can't tell you why you're prohibited from using care.com forever. So to whom can I speak about this? No one. No one. When this happened to me, about 1.5 years ago, they were headquartered in Massachusetts. Today, they appear to be headquartered in Austin. However, there is no address or phone number on their website. Only contact is through email. So how can one even write a letter of complaint? Do you seriously think an email will make its way to the top of the company? These people run their company like a Gestapo police state. The service is a good idea, but the organization is horrendous!

Waste of time. Made to create an account, provide personal details, filter my search, and select the ads I liked the most. It was only I once I started receiving responses to my post that I was notified I’d have to pay extortionate membership fees to READ THE MESSAGES. Awful business.

I did not want a membership just agreed to a $10 background check on one person to hire posted. The amount changed to $131.40 unauthorized and the company refuses to reimburse. I am very upset and would nit trust any of their employees.
