Tonya B.
Disappointing experience.
My experience as a service provider has been poor. It's a great concept to connect providers with people who need services, but the execution is disappointing, at least in my area. Might be awesome for big cities, but not so much for small towns. Few jobs are posted, there is constant pressure to fill out an availability calendar, which does not apply in all cases, and I am confused as to whether this is limiting my exposure. Unclear how that works. When you apply for jobs, you rarely hear from someone. Most jobs are closer to the big city, and even if you are willing to travel for a client, they seem to want a next door neighbor, not someone 20 miles away, even if you regularly travel to a work site. It looked promising but the actual experience did not pan out as hoped. I say this understanding that Care.com has no real control over the professionalism or courtesy of the people using it, nor can they help the infrequent utilization of certain areas.
